12 Lotus cars participated in the 2025 GGLC Fall Tour. Beginning the drive on Saturday Oct 11, the tour themed "The Gold Tour" the route took the group from Truckee (near Lake Tahoe) north to Sierraville and then onto California Highway 49 (The Golden Chain). Crossing over the Sierra mountain range over Yuba Pass (elevation 6700ft) we stopped in Downieville for a brief stop and continued west through small old mining towns that were established during California's Gold Rush. After our lunch break in Grass Valley we headed south on Hwy 49 to land in Lotus California where the group was greeted by local members at the Lotus Post Office. Saturday ended in Placerville (once known as Hangtown) with a stay in the haunted Cary House hotel (one of the oldest hotels in California).
Sunday, Oct 12, our journey on Hwy 49 continued south with our first stop in San Andreas at Dave Bean Engineering, long running supplier of classic Lotus parts. Lunch stop at a winery in Murphys, California and then to our final destination, Railtown 1897 to see and ride steam powered trains.
