My Stock mats are weird.

My mats seem to stick up, especially towards the seats. The retainers seem too high and the mats do not sit on the floor. Anyone else notice this?

Experiencing the same thing, quite annoying. In the process now of retrofitting the GRP aluminum carpet buttons to (hopefully) rectify

Let us know if it works. This is basically caused by Lotus/Geely using some off the shelf fastener that obviously doesn't sit flush. It's definitely annoying, but the dealer won't do anything about out it because the solution is what Lotus elected to use. Classic case of "they all do that, sir."

Its probably not the issue but the floor mat retainers can be really fiddly to get in place, You need to get them in just the right position before you can turn them to click into position otherwise they don't go in properly. As I say probably not your issue but mentioning it just in case.

I've always noticed this about mine from day 1, along with the fact that the buttons don't lock in very tight. I've got Witamats installed over them so it doesn't bother me so much anymore.

For any that may not know, they changed the retainer system for the mats at some point. They dont use the twist screws anymore. Now they pop down on a post. I have the new system and it does float the mat a bit. I have no idea why they did it like that. I just filed it under Lotus quirks.
