Lotus halt all delivery to the US.

It's been hard to get any information from the dealership that I had put a deposit with back in November of 2024 but I wanted to share this latest update. Not a lot of detail, but seems encouraging. Curious if anyone else has heard anything else from yesterday's "dealer call".

I just got the same update from my dealer. No word on pricing, so I drove down to a different Lotus dealer and they said it will be a 10% increase. The salesman did not seem knowledgeable or confident though, so I don’t know the weight of his words.

Hope it’s not 10% more than already agreed on as the duty was prev 2.5, now 10, a 7.5 bump but that’s prob on what the dealer gets them for and not on the MSRP. Never considered the scenario dealers may use the tariffs as an excuse to squeeze a few more dollars out of us. We should keep each other posted as this may vary based on dealership used.

Tariff is levied on the value of the car on the dock, which is the price Lotus UK sells it to Lotus US, plus shipping. This is less than dealer cost, as Lotus US add a margin.

Plus it is already 2.5% of this amount, now it will be 10%. I have a hard time thinking if Dealers are honest on price difference that it won’t be more than 5-6000 per car.

Agree. As our cars start rolling in we should keep each other posted on price adjustments to avoid getting shafted. I’m hoping Lotus absorbs some of the cost but unlikely.

So, today I surrendered to the inevitable. I asked for my deposit back on my order. The dealer agreed and asked no questions.

Sad that politics ruined this purchase, but neither happy with Lotus for being completely opaque about their intentions, etc. Really no reason why they can’t do their supporters this small courtesy. Not happy.

Just a few weeks ago, I got news from my dealer that Lotus will be shipping soon. I asked my SA for his source and he said he got the news from his dealer's Lotus rep. SA couldn't give me a time frame though. Maybe we can wait a few more weeks before we move on?

Just a few weeks ago, I got news from my dealer that Lotus will be shipping soon. I asked my SA for his source and he said he got the news from his dealer's Lotus rep. SA couldn't give me a time frame though. Maybe we can wait a few more weeks before we move on?

If you have already gotten the order PDF from Lotus with your detail spec and price, your car is probably already done and waiting for transport. It seems that Lotus already started limited production of the Turbo SE as a Dealer in Netherland have just gotten one.

More bad news even for those who placed an order for the 2025 model. Just received this from my dealer about my Feb 2025 confirmed order. I must have been at the tail end of the order submissions.

We finally received an update from Lotus today. They have finally resumed production for 2025, but will not be able to build as many 2025 Emira’s as were ordered due to the pause from the tariffs, and as a result; your order is being pushed out to a 2026 model year car. The first 2026’s are expected to start arriving here Q4 of this year or Q1 of next year. Because of this, we may need to re-submit your order to Lotus and are currently awaiting further direction.

When did you place the order, I know the base V6 order cutoff was Feb 15th and anything after that is not guaranteed.

Damn, that's unexpected, guess they did switched over to base i4/SE production early during the uncertainty period on the tariff.

At this point I’d rather have a pending MY2026 build. I confirmed my build w/ PDF Nov2024 so I’m assuming its finished just sitting overseas.

then I'm doomed too, mine was feb as well. All this waiting can believe this is happening

I placed my order in Feb too, and got the pdf confirmation within a few days. Not sure what value the pdf has, as my car was certainly not in production when I received it.

Before the tariff fiasco, getting your pdf mean that Lotus have confirmed that you have secured a place in the production queue for that production cycle.
