Lotus halt all delivery to the US.

i only did a 2500 deposit for order of a 2025. It was never presented as non-refundable at at time. I got the car so it didnt matter from me but if Lotus is unable to deliver then its a contract default on their end not yours. They shouldnt argue a refund.

My dealer advises Lotus is still producing cars for the US albeit without issuing VINs to US buyers or shipping to the US until the tariff issue is resolved. A 10% tariff would, he further advises, would be *only* 7.5% over the existing tariff of 2.5%. I have no idea whether any of this is accurate, but I agreed to wait a month to see where things stand then.

I have been in touch with my dealership regularly the past few weeks, because my order has been in limbo as well. However, in a massive stroke of luck for me, they happened to recently receive a few pre-tariff 2025 V6 manuals last week, one of which I really liked a lot. So I inquired about swapping out my order for this in stock model, and they were more than happy to accommodate my request. This works out fantastic for me, as I not only get a car in a great specification, but I also avoid any tariffs, was able to apply my order fee to this unit, and most importantly, I get to pick it up tomorrow morning - a WIN-WIN-WIN-WIN!

I too was worried about my car ever arriving, especially after hearing about layoffs at Lotus a few weeks ago. I began to think that the car might never arrive, or if it finally did, that it was going to cost much more than I would feel comfortable paying. I was at the point where I was ready to forego my deposit in order to find something before the last of the new 2025s dried up.

That said, if you really have your heart set on a new 2025, I would recommend combing each dealer website to find something you like at the potential risk of a loss of deposit. I was mentally prepared to do this, as I felt this would be a small fee to own possibly one of the very last reasonably affordable special cars to be imported into the US.

Best of luck!

This. There are tons of cars just sitting (In the US anyway...) and the fact that dealers that wouldn't even return my call are now randomly calling (albeit a month too late as I've already purchased) tells me the little stunt they tried with using "tariffs" as a reason to not discount is blowing up in their face as cars sit.

Just remember last week of every month and certainly the last days of any quarter are the best times to really squeeze on price given they are under pressure to move units for their monthly and quarterly sales goals.

Just did a nationwide search on autotrader for 2025s and there's a good selection of nice specs still out there. I still don't think they will deal too much as there's no inventory to replace what they sell but I imagine you can get a few bucks off. If your spec is available snag it up now.

EDIT: Here are some of my picks:

Really nicely optioned in white over red with black pack and black wheels.

No picture on this one but its seneca blue with alcantara yellow stitch. Nice cause it only does extended black pack so you get a blue roof.

Classy Meridian over tan with silver calipers

Magma over tan with black calipers.

I know the lotus in Scottsdale AZ has had a ton of i4s sitting and they recently got their (last for now) order of v6 manuals.

Thanks mates. I have Autotrader etc on speed dial, yet I haven’t found any car close to my ordered spec, so I guess I’m going to have to cross my fingers. Doubtful I’m going to cheerfully fork over another 10% or more.
