$750 quoted for galpin for first 1000 oil change and inspection. That is 30min of work. Is there better priced service in Lotus of Orange? I can work from Irvine for 1d.

go to southbay autohause. $195.

Do they have software update tho?
no they are just a general shop. they specialize in lotus bmw merc and ferrari. they do have someone that has the lotus tool that comes around when needed. are you getting the oil change msg? if so you can just clear that yourself.

So i did the first service at Galpin. the cost is only oil change. It ended yo coming out at 690. 500 flat plus 190 for parts. The service part was all zero cost items. So you can probably get the oil changed somewhere else and then just book a preventative service and it be free. You could also have them check an "issue" if you have anything and have them throw the service in after that.

yeah this is pretty much what i do. just bring it in when its absolutely needed and then do the oil and mods elsewhere.

Just paid the $750 for the 1 year service with 4500 miles on the odometer at Galpin (Vanessa is my service writer). Yes, I can definitely can get it cheaper somewhere else but the service usually takes at minimum 2 days and they take care of all software updates and/or recalls. Plus they gave you a loaner car (my choice of a Jaguar F-Pace or a Defender). I am willing to pay a few hundreds dollars more to get the dealer service, the loaner, and not having to drive to two different repair shops to get some simple work done. Worth my time not having to drive around. Especially considering there are no shop in the SF Valley I would trust. Closest shop I would trust is in Castaic.

I get my oil changes and mechanical stuff done at Carpapz Garage in Pomona. (Here is their IG - Carpapz Garage IG). I am not affiliated with them, met the owner and his mechanic at a local event and they were good people.
I will only go to a dealer if I am claiming warranty or need updates. But since my car has been good, I have no desire to update. I would avoid Lotus of OC, as advised by many who have gone there.

Posted earlier: my dealer quoted $900, but think I was dressed too nicely when I stopped by for the quote.

Thank you. I will do the first one in galpin then and find an independent afterwards.

@T6061 I am curious as to your personal experience with the scheduling, completeness of work, cleanliness of the car when picked up including what was left under the engine under tray (which you won't know unless you look at it afterwards and remove it), etc. I personally, did not get the warm and fuzzies when I went to check the service bay out. So, I've been making the hike to SD. I'm in OC. So, SD was the next best thing vs. going all the way across LA traffic to Galpin (which I have heard is pretty good).

I went to A1 automotive in San Gabriel and had a good experience. Harry is a lotus guy and does a lot of work in evoras. They are not a lotus specialist shop but he is as an Elise owner himself.

What were the bad reviews about lotus oc? I went to get warranty check on minor questions and they said “they all do that sir”.
