Have Lotus issued any recalls or service bulletins for the UK market?

Has anyone in the UK been proactively contacted by Lotus to have any of the factory updates fitted to their car?

For example the new side intake grilles, the water proofing over the electrics, or even software updates?

It seems this is happening in other regions. But in the UK they're waiting for the failures to occur before fixing them.

What's going on here? It's surely in Lotus's interest to fix potential issues cheaply rather than paying for expensive repairs, and also avoiding more breakdowns that will sour customers experiences with the car.

As far as I am aware there have been no official recalls in the UK, just service bulletins issued to the dealers which they will see to when your car is in for servicing or warranty work. On my car these covered a range of items like the HVAC water shield, loose banjo bolts on the brake callipers, and multiple software updates. I think this is a really shoddy approach by Lotus. As you say, they should be proactively contacting customers rather than potentially waiting a full year for a car to come in for a service. And don't get me started on the paint bubbling 🤬 .They must know which batches of cars are have the faulty panels, but seem content to run down the clock on the 3yr warranty, and if your car gets bubbling after that, GFY . Geely's stated aim with Lotus was to turn it into a global 'premium' brand, but apparently no one at Lotus has figured out what that means in terms of customer service.

I didn't know about that. My car has had one service (2nd due in a couple months). At the last service they didn't tell me they had completed any service bulletins, and there was nothing in the paperwork.

I did ask about getting the software updates completed, but they said they were unable to do it on the day of the service as it apparently takes hours (really?!) and it meant their machine would be tied up when it was needed for other cars. Not sure if that was a fob off.

Your dealer should be able to tell you what service bulletin items have been carried out and any outstanding. I think all Emiras from the first couple of years of production will have several. Some of the software updates do take a crazy amount of time. Mine had to be kept in overnight when an update failed after running for several hours. Still sounds like a fob off though as the dealer should do it as part of the service.

Sounds like a fob off to me. Which dealer?

My Emira has had several software updates I'm told.

When I walking talking to the guys at my dealership, they mentioned they are legally obliged to update the software if updates are available.
Something to do with legal accountability and not doing them making them responsible for any issues that may have occurred as a result of the lack of the updates.
