Anyone running just the front splitter?

If so please share pics.

I have been asking myself the same question. I have a carbon fibre diffuser and extension strakes from Aerie (which should (hopefully!) produce a small increase in downforce) and I think a front splitter in C/F would look good in combination. However I’m concerned a splitter will add too much downforce at the front and adversely affect aero balance. I really don’t a want to add a rear wing to increase rear downforce as that would spoil the overall appearance (in my opinion). So far I have only used my Emira on public roads so unlikely to reach speeds where aero balance will show itself, but at some point I may track it and don’t want snap oversteer - especially on high speed corners! So interested to know others experience of running a front splitter only.

I have been looking for photos of Emiras with just a front splitter and found this one from a recent Lotus Drivers Club Facebook post. Not my car and don’t know who the splitter manufacturer is.

It's a mid-engine car. I know these are set up well from the factory with the aero they were able to build into the body, but nearly all mid-engine cars benefit from a front splitter. With that said, most cars from the factory are set up to understeer anyway. You can't go wrong with a splitter even without rear aero added.

Is there a piano black front splitter available? I just want something to act as a sacrificial piece. Something that isn't crazy expensive, like the carbon.

Yeah, sacrificing a $800 carbon piece every now and then would get old quickly, and plain black splitter would fit better with the rest of the car anyways. But I haven't been able to find anything.

exactly, i did this on my BMW. $70 bucks for a front splitter and looks great. Matches the rest of the car's side skirts and rear diffuser. I have already scraped the bottom of this one and was able to just sand the roughness to smooth. Ready for the next scrap lol

I agree and reached out to Maxton design, but they said it's not really in the cards unless they got more interest. I posted up to gauge and no one seemed interested.

I like Maxton because it's very simple designs made in ABS painted piano black. Economical and great as a sacraficial item.

ok, hopefully in time there will be one.

If folks have interest, send an email to them.

I would think having a larger front splitter would make the understeer better, but you need a larger spoiler to balance out the car aero

Having a larger front splitter would shift the balance to the front (less understeer given all else equal). Speaking on very simple terms as there are levels to everything and it would mainly impact corners that are faster where aero becomes influential.

But I do agree that when we are talking about FUNCTIONAL aero, it is important to assess and be intentional with your balance.

The lip spoilers and such that are currently available for our cars aren't going to be generating that much downforce to warrant a rear wing, in my humble opinion. This is pretty evident in the way they are mounted.

Thanks, this is not too bad a price for what it is. They do have a front splitter for $241.48. Now do they ship to the USA, and at what cost.

Ok it appears they do ship to usa. Total will be $384.14. I bit more then i was hoping to spend. But it looks like good quality.

That's not too bad. Did they mention if that's with tariffs included?

I just added it to my cart and then walked through the checkout. It gave me a shipping price. I didn't see anything about tariffs. In all of my cases, that is usually included with the price and shipment.
