I think it exploded by itself as most of the glass went out, it was the drivers door and no glass fell on me, the door, rear quarter panel and part of the tailgate were all damaged by glass fragments, even the door mirror bracket had a small gouge from the glass so it must have gone forwards as well. I was travelling at about 70 mph at the time so I cannot see how it happened.Wow, did it do it just on its own or did something hit it?
None of the above, sorry to disappoint you.Did you have something mounted via suction cups? Or were playing obnoxious music? Did you have beans for lunch?
I'd go with this. Off to the dealer, ask them to explainIt is rare, but heat treated or tempered glass (safety glass) can spontaneously explode if there's an impurity in it during manufacture that causes internal stresses that eventually cause sudden breakage. I've had this happen in a house window and it was frightening.
