AO registrations?

I've had the registration through for the new car, but it starts AO72 - i thought all were AU72?

Is this expected or is it yet another c*ck up?

All the UK Emiras default to an AO plate as part of the centralised registration process by Lotus

It used to be AU for factory and Stratton Motors cars.

Yup mine's an AO as are all the demo cars.

Area identifiers AO AP AR AS AT AU all indicate Norwich so in theory it could be any of those.
