    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

honestly everything has been covered in great details already... I drove the nimbus with touring suspension and goodyear tyres. One thing I'll say, I own ( and track 5-6 days a year) a 981 Cayman GT4 for the past 4 years and I wasn't disapointed by the Emira. I think the Emira was more fun on...

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

went for a test drive yesterday in Montreal, was really happy with everything about the car. Can't wait for spring to come. Hopefully no more delays...

    Test Drive Scheduled in Ontario!

reached out to the Montreal dealership on monday as well. Was not confirmed an exact date, but he did confirm the car is expected early november. They said they'll contact me as soon as the date is confirmed.

So I got to take a test drive.... :)

Called the Montreal dealership yesterday, they said they awaiting confirmation from lotus on the exact date but they expect to get 2 Emiras for a few days by the end of october. Lotus should prioritize the northern dealers IMO, we have only about 1.5 months of snow free months left...

So I got to take a test drive.... :)

I currently own a manual GT4 and it's brilliant, but the only complain I have is the long gearing (especially for a high revving NA engine which has no gut under 5000rpm), so that's great to hear!

So I got to take a test drive.... :)

how did you like the shifter feel?

    BMW M2 anyone?

M2 is a good car, but it's not mid-engine. Any mid-engine car is in a different league. Had one E36 M3, one E92 M3, one 987.2 Cayman S and one 981 GT4, all tracked. No BMW is on par with a mid-engine (performance wise). I have ordered a Supra 6MT for track duty and I know it's a downgrade VS...

Canadian Emira preorders build, delivery dates, & updates thread

That kinda sounds fishy to me. Gave my deposit on the exact day the car was revealed (july 6th 2021?) and was 5th on the list at my dealer

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

I've got a FE allocation in Montreal, but still have to wait at least march. Was planning on selling my GT4 right about now, but I'll hold on to it untill spring, you know, just in case there would be more delays...

Canadian Emira preorders build, delivery dates, & updates thread

I talked with a fiscal expert, every FE emira will be hit by the tax. You need a written agreement regarding the sale of the car, deposit does not count as sale.

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

here there is so much taxes to be paid on a new car, hard to make that work. You pay 20k in taxes that you don't get back when you sell... Better sell for a huge premium to make it worth

Additionnal allocations for 2023 does not mean additional FE allocation the initial 700 FE allocations are only for the V6 as well.

Canadian Emira preorders build, delivery dates, & updates thread

Received the same email from Lotus USA as well. I have not heard from the Montreal dealership yet, but I'm pretty sure if I email them tomorrow I'll get all the information they have, experience has been great so far. My initial delivery date was November, I have to admit I'm not really mad of...

Seneca Blue Lotus Emira Photo Thread

I have gone with Alcantara and grey stitch. I think It'll blend in the best when considering the silver speaker covers, silver trims around the shifter, silver shift knob, etc

why not buy a 718 and trade it in when you get your Emira? They keep good value and you'll have checked 2 boxes on your bucket list :)

    ALCANTARA VS LEATHER

Well the GT4 is driven maybe once every 2 weeks, so not exactly the same battle I guess... I always wear gloves on track because I'm so worried about the steering wheel.
  29. P

    ALCANTARA VS LEATHER

as stated, Alcantara will require additionnal maintenance. I have it both on the wheel and the seats in my GT4. The wheel is the worst, I'm developing an OCD with this. I clean it twice a year with Sonax Alcantara Cleaner, even after 6 years it's still like new, but that car only has 22...

    Hello from Canada

They can keep at the dealership if they have room, else they have closed transporters to ship it to your home for an extra cost.

    Hello from Canada

It won't. Canada population is 10% of US population, see where that allocation ratios come from? 2022 allocations were for V6 FE only, next year there should be way more for I4 and base editions. The Montreal dealer said a few months back he's expecting somewhere around 50 allocations for...

    Hello from Canada

Had no idea the waiting list is now this long! So far mine is still scheduled for delivery in November, let's see if that changes. Anyway, it's gonna be winter time, so not a big deal of it slips 2-3 months

How many crossed shopped the GT4?

I was thinking about keeping my 981 GT4 along side the Emira, but with the official announcement of the Manual Supra, I've decided to trade in the GT4 when the Emira arrives and ordered a 2023 Supra with manual transmission. Hopefully the Emira will be awsome enough that I don't miss the GT4

Magma Red Lotus Emira Photo Thread

I was hesitant for a while, but ordered Seneca in the end... Ordered a Red GR Corolla, so didn't want 2 red cars... That's pretty much what tipped the scale

How many crossed shopped the GT4?

The GT4 is not at home on North American roads. I kinda feel like it's a bit boring to drive on the streets when you start driving it on the track. You always have the feeling that you are not exploiting the car at all when street driving...

V6 manual Clutch pressure, it's heavy or OK

I own a 2016 (981) GT4 and the clutch is quite heavy. Actually, I don't recall ever having an OEM clutch this heavy in any of the cars I owned. Although, all the reviews I read online mention the new 982 GT4 has a much lighter clutch. As for slippage, mine has 23 000km and been tracking 7-8...
