3rd round of Redundancies at Lotus 😞

4th round of Redundancies It's a third of the current staff this time, and now 80% of the total UK Lotus staff gone in under 18 months. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cr4evdr355xo

This is not the car I ordered!

SCCLEKAX6PHM1xxxx So the Chassis is SPORT (I wonder if someone else out there has a TOUR car and thinks it's Sport?) Also of note the manufacturer date suggests 2022. But the car was registered late 2023 and came with tyres dated 2023. It looks like they swapped the wheels on the car at some...

Sat for a month and it started fine!

That's good info, thanks. It is the Summer here, and it's been a fairly consistent 20-25C temp here over the last month. So good conditions to maintain a battery. I also understand it's bad for batteries to get too low and can actually damage them. So I probably won't let it go a month again...

This is not the car I ordered!

I was torn between Tour and Sport suspension, and in the end I ordered Tour. I've been very happy with my suspension, and happy that I made the correct decision. (10K miles down..) Then I came across a post that says you can identify the suspension from what is printed on the springs, so out of...

Putting up for sale my Emira

Dealers want to turn around a decent profit. Perhaps privately you'll get closer to £60K. £45K is a joke! and 'manuals and Sport suspension don't sell' sounds like BS to knock the price down. If anything manual is going to be the easiest to sell, certainly on the V6!

    Leaky windows

I get a tiny dribble or a few spots in this area if I'm a bit aggressive with the jet wash. Not even enough to bother drying up afterwards. I've never had any water come in from regular rain or hosepipe washing. I have heard reports of enough water running in that it can start to wet/soak into...

Sat for a month and it started fine!

There has been some discussion about the Emira needing to sit on a battery maintainer/charger otherwise going flat quite quickly. Well after a work trip, and then a holiday I went to use my Emira this week after it has been sat for a month. I was half expecting it to not start and was ready to...

Putting up for sale my Emira

The dash just shows from when it was last reset. It doesn't matter if the car was in storage or at a dealer. Service history is defined by mileage AND time. The car technically has an incomplete service history. You've got a good justification as to why it has a missing service history, and...

Putting up for sale my Emira

£60K? Only one service in 2 1/2 years will put people off. It is low mileage, but it's still technically an incomplete service history. I'm surprised a dealer encouraged this. Body kit mods will also put some buyers off. If it won't sell try returning the car to stock.

Seat panel detaching, anybody else having this issue?

Just to add that mine is broken and easily pops off now if I put any pressure on the outside seat bolster. I'm not near a dealer so was going to wait until service time to get it replaced.

Anyone considering replacing their current Emira with the updated 2026 model?

In the UK this would be an extremely costly endeavour. I think if you traded in a 2 year old Emira you would probably only get 50% off the price of the new Emira. Especially when you consider your current Emira is likely a fully speced First Edition, so the equivalent new one is going to be...

Which options would you drop if you ordered now?

Nearly everyone on here has a First Edition (have Second Editions even shipped?). So we essentially have all the options as standard. If you were buying now, and configuring with the online builder and knowing the price of options. What would you drop off to save money? I think I would dump...

Does anyone know how to stop the car forgetting all the DAB radio stations after you've previously searched and populated the list?

Super Unleaded software tune for 430hp

Just found someone offering a software tune for Super Unleaded (98RON EUR / 94 octane US). But it looks like you have to remove the ECU and post it to them (I guess ECU software updating from the OBDII port hasn't been hacked yet)...

    Paint blistering issue update

After having my doors replaced I had increased wind noise at high speed, a scratch across the leather on the door card and a new rattle from the door when playing music with the window not fully closed. For an almost invisible paint bubble I would leave it well alone.
  19. M

    Paint blistering issue update

Also bear in mind those who voted No are not necessarily saying their car doesn't have the issue, they're saying it hasn't happened yet! It can take years. For the first 2 years of ownership I would have been voting No -but my car very much did turn out to have the issue (both doors).
  20. M

Cracking noise - maybe from speaker?

I get this too, and it was on a courtesy car. Probably all cars with KEF do it, just some owners haven't noticed or put it down to something else.

Anyone in the UK actually ordered a £100K Emira?

I'm just wondering if there are any new members who have actually ordered an Emira recently at the new prices? It only takes a few option ticks to push the V6 over £100K and the special editions (which are just cosmetic?) are £115K+. My first Edition would be £108K at the new prices.. Then with...

    Paint blistering issue update

It's odd how nothing happens for years, then boom they just appear over night. Where you have them seems to be the usual location. You'll need to join the waiting list for new doors. Then when they fit them deal with the usual issues of increased wind noise at speed, door card damage and water...

    Paint blistering issue update

It took over two years for my paint to bubble. Then it happened on both sides almost overnight. Top of the doors in the usual area. Strange. They can't backtrack on having 5 years written down because it 'was a mistake'. If that was true then every legal document ever written could be...

    Slight right pull under acceleration

Never solved this. All four tyres pressure set correctly. Had a full geo. Resulted in some minor adjustments, but didn't change the slight steering change under hard acceleration. The person doing the geo tested the car afterwards and couldn't feel it. He suggested the front lifting (car...

3rd Cat Delete on Emira – Is the Milltek Valve Controller Really Necessary?

Just to confirm and ask a stupid question. The valve controller only affects the idle and low RPM volume? So if you're driving the car hard and up high in the rev range it won't make any difference? But great for annoying the neighbours when you back out the drive 😁

    Rear view mirror - vibrating

Did you (and others in the thread) ever get a solution to this? I just posted a similar query and apparently it's not normal. I don't want to be fobbed off by the dealer like you were.
  27. M

    They all do that Sir..

    1) The rear view mirror vibrates and jiggles. Even noticeable on relatively smooth roads. - Rock solid, no vibration ever Interesting. Out of the three issues that is the one I thought most likely to be 'normal'. Sure I remember it being mentioned in a car review.

    Fresh owner and upset

This is a prime example why you never let a dealer detail, polish, paint correct etc a car. The job usually falls to a junior tech with no formal training, and let loose can cause more damage than they fix. A local professional accredited detailer/ceramic/PPF specialist will be able to look at...

    They all do that Sir..

A few minor issues I just want to confirm whether they are normal or not.. (V6 manual) 1) The rear view mirror vibrates and jiggles. Even noticeable on relatively smooth roads. 2) The washer jets are comparatively weak compared to other cars. They work, but don't exactly blast the windscreen...

The Emira finally coming to a CarWOW drag race?

This little teaser has been released on the CarWOW FB page. I'm surprised it hasn't been represented in a race before now. We know it's not a car built for straight line performance. I hope it's not embarrassed by the competition. At least it looks like the full fat 400bhp I4 version (fastest...

    My Alignment Results

Wow! It was so far off the previous alignment measurements were off the scale and just showed an X 😂 That must have been almost undrivable! I wonder if they just forgot to do any type of alignment at the factory. Just bolted on the suspension and sent it out the door.

Connecting to WiFi. What's the point?

But there's a separate WiFi connection option where you can connect to (for example your home WiFi) put in the password and it connects and shows a connection icon. This is completely separate to the Android Auto connection (which uses WiFi, but is not initiated by WiFi or requires password...

Connecting to WiFi. What's the point?

I remember using Pringles cans for high gain directional WiFi antennas back in the day! I know Android Auto uses a WiFi connection (data is not fast enough through Bluetooth). But the Emira will connect to my home WiFi for an internet connection in a setting that seems unrelated to CarPlay /...

    GRP Intake Shootout Dyno Testing!

You're getting an almost negligible improvement in performance at the cost of significantly decreased filtering and increased engine wear/damage. It seems a no brainer to avoid IMHO. There's a reason manufacturers have resoundingly stuck with paper filters.

Manual v6 reverse gear not engaging

Go into 1st gear first. Then it will glide into reverse. Otherwise I've found reverse doesn't always 'take'.
