Davebeats, Tail of the Gator is also known as Ozello trail so you can look up either one. At the end of the trail, there's a nice restaurant where most of the drivers and motorcycle riders have lunch. The two times I've been there, the parking lot looked like a cars and coffee meet.

Yes, my car was held up by the tariff. I got a call from my dealer last week saying my car is on the boat heading for the states and will take 3-4 weeks to get to the port and 1-2 weeks to transport to their shop.

I will be accepting delivery in 3-4 weeks. Finally, after a year and a half of waiting, I will be getting my Emira. But instead of being totally ecstatic, I feel ambivalent. With the uncertainty of Lotus' future, should I still go ahead and buy one?

I didn't ask. The SA does not have a lot of details and I don't want to hold him on what he tells me now. I'll keep you guys updated as more info is released.

I just got a text from my dealer informing me that my car is in the transportation system and is on its way to the states. My SA could not say when the car will arrive but it shouldn't be long. UCLAFC, RobR, jbug187 and the rest of the folks waiting, hang in there.

I empathize with you. I'm in the same boat. Just a few weeks ago, I got news from my dealer that Lotus will be shipping soon. I asked my SA for his source and he said he got the news from his dealer's Lotus rep. SA couldn't give me a time frame though. Maybe we can wait a few more weeks...

I got a call from my SA informing me that lotus has resumed shipping of cars to the US and I should get my car soon. Yay. Anyone else got a call from the dealer?

In my case, I'm just happy that Lotus might potentially resume US production.

This is great news for everyone in limbo, which includes me. Just a few weeks ago, I almost settled for an Emira that was not exactly my spec.

American cars in Asia are not popular because they break down, a lot. Japanese cars are popular over there because they last a long time even in unforgiving conditions. The better product wins. Tariff will not solve the problem of an inferior product.

I'm one of the frustrated people waiting for an Emira. Darn if you pay the tariff and the tariff went away the following month. Darn if you wait for the tariff to go away and it never did.
