    Emira track impressions

I really don't know much on track stuff, but I'm picking things up. LOL. I looked up the wheel motion ratio. There is a mention of how that is related to how stiff the car feels while driving. Normally ... I don't like sports suspensions on a street car. But the Emira doesn't feel bad to...

    Emira track impressions

Here is a video of a pro driver in my car. He beats my time by 7 seconds. Plus he can do more. He wanted to give me an example that I could relate to. He said the car needs way more camber. Basically only 1/3 of the tire is on the ground on some turns. On suspension stiffness, a lot of...

The Ferodo 1.11 feel good to me. A strong initial bite. Then nice feel. I ran the Cayman 981 in the morning, then the Lotus in the afternoon. A hot Florida day. I had a passenger in the afternoon and still edged out a PB for that track. The Cayman has a stock suspension, but Sports Plus...

I just pointed someone from facebook to this post. Just a quick summary, I did NOT use the supplied filter that shipped with the Alpines. I tried the filter on the first side. There was not much volume. Basically a failure. On the second side I "forgot" the filter. It has a lot more...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

I'm not giving up on the Emira for the track yet. But I did get a 2014 Porsche Cayman for a second track car to use this summer in Chicago. The Emira is in Miami. On the Emira, I now have Ferodo 1.11s on the front with Rotora rotors from EBC. Then Rotora H8s on the back. I ran this setup...

    Emira track impressions

On the hard braking zones, I do have the feeling of a little slide. The coach I mentioned calls it your "stop acceleration point". So right from throttle right to hard brake. Then ease up into the braking zone to maintain a bit of trail brake. Work into braking as late as possible. I tend to...

I thought this was interesting. My coach in Miami thought the brakes in my Emira were not enough soon enough. He said his old Caymen was setup like your Boxter. He went there the first time last month and ripped 1:37, so the next level in driving. But with a newer Cayman. I thought my Emira...

Just to clarify, that picture was the OEM GY tires. Those lasted 2.5 days. The Continentals lasted much longer. With much more aggressive driving. For what it's worth, this is the pro. Before letting air out. On the Continentals. With Aggressive pads and lighter front rotors. Same setup...

Interesting. The pro coach wanted them much less than I had them. I start at 26/29. They heat to 35-38. They had them heating to 33-34. My buddy did this the Emira was "so sticky" even with endurance 200 TW tires.

Sebring - hot days. 2:37. Rotora Front rotors. Rotora H8 Pads. Continental Extreme Contact Force 200 TW tires. Max negative camber alignment (not much available thought).

True. I don't run music much though. But that set I did. I ran one of my better laps, even with needing to pass. The music isn't that loud. I can hear everything. It does brig to the next level. Plus, the song is Red Barchetta - about racing a car. Lol!

I only use 4 wires. I tap into the main (midrange). That is how the corvette C8 was wired. It worked fine. The other option to use the tweeter wires would mean tweeters (the stock and the new Alpine) are run from each channel. That doesn't make sense to me, but they sound basically the...

    Emira track impressions

I've been going to the track. I don't have as much experience as you guys. I went to Spring Mountain two times for the 2 day C8 schools, so 4 days total. Then some lead follow sets at the Corvette museum. When I bought my Emira, I wasn't planning on tracking. I went once, had a blast and...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

So the Rotora H8 pads pushed hard did about the same as OEM pads taking a bit off. I pushed the H8s all day. The day I was stuff with OEM, I worked into it. I think its the hot time that really trash the pads. I'm going to run the H8s this weekend and take a bit off the braking and see how...

Rears went that long. I went through 1/3 of my semi-metalic race pads on the front in one day.

If you do this, please elaborate on how. I run an OBD bluetooth device to TrackAddict. Even with OBD Fusion, there are not any oil pressure values.

Who here has tracked their Emira?

My left rear pad wore out more than my right rear. I've been going faster at the track. I've been running sport mode. I'm more comfortable after reading more about it. I think the car is doing way to much. The first set of OEM pads lasted 8 or so track days. Then the aftermarket...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

I have the Rotora from GRP. They do not work with EBC Bluestuff pads. I ripped serious grooves on the rotors after a few track days. Needed to have them resurfaced. I'm trying them now with harder pads. That seems better after one tough track day.

Who here has tracked their Emira?

I'm driving faster now. I went through a second set of rear pads. I suspect I'm getting too much unnecessary traction control. Is everyone running in Sport or track mode? For those in track, how much control is left?

I did hear the Kicker today. Thanks @cestima It sounds good. The system with the tweeter mod and the kicker is solid. It's crazy we can't pair my phone to your car though. This is the amp I have. For sure overkill, but i have it. The LC2i let's me tune up the cure of the bass. If I...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

The seem fine. They stop fast. At some point, that feeling where the car would overgrab on the street slowing down for a light went away. I'm not sure if that's the new rotors or the pads. On the track simulator, the Emira brakes better than most cars. I'm concerned about these grooves...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

My OE front pads didn't last long on the track. 60 laps or so. I tried EBC Blue. They have over half left after 100 laps or so. But they put slight grooves in my new Rotora rotors. Both felt fine to me.

    Adding a subwoofer

I'm interested in hearing the Kicker. My original plan was to use a 1,000 watt amp I have from my old car. Then buy a JL 10 or 12. That is overkill, and the JL subs are $750-800ish. I have a nice audioquest processor too. So I could tune the bass a lot more. I'm torn.
