    Software Update and Extended Warranty

So a bit of an update on the warranty subject. Lotus have organised, via Car Care Plan, a warranty for dealers to sell alongside the sale of used vehicles going forward. It is not for owners looking to extend their warranty when the Lotus one ends, but.... they are putting one together to fill...

    Software Update and Extended Warranty

Very strange, I contacted Lotus via their website (as it says to do) and they said contact the dealership. A phone call later and no-one had a clue but someone will get back to me, email from the service department saying they will look into it but no-one has heard of an aftermarket package...

UK Owners - We are offering you an extended warranty - Questions?

They really don't have a leg to stand on with the 3 yrs when they advertised 5 yrs on the website for nearly 3 yrs. Inherent fault that they have acknowledged also doesn't help them. A member recently stated Lotus were soon launching an extended warranty, CS informed him, for owners.

    No side intake grilles?!

I assume it is in the gap between the glass and hatch body, there is a very small lip already but doesn't prevent water ingress.

I chuckled when I read in one the papers 'he chose a British EV'. 🤣

The Break-In Period No One Talks About (V6 Manual, Sports Suspension, Cup 2)

I do think our American friends forget that Lotus has never been about straight line speed, nor 'canyon runs'. Tested and built for British B roads that have so many twists and blind corners that 0-60 mph and max bhp are not even a consideration, holding the road and direct steering are.

    Software Update and Extended Warranty

If I had an extended warranty I would consider it, but with the warranty I think it would be easier to sell. To be honest I'm struggling to justify keeping it as I don't use it as much as it should driven.

    Software Update and Extended Warranty

Nice one. I'm waiting for it to roll out before contacting Lotus again to try to get the extended warranty as a goodwill gesture for the car not being driveable for approx 6 months in the last year.

    Software Update and Extended Warranty

I wonder when that was added? It was only available on purchase of a new car, I had that confirmed from Escalations 10 months or so ago. I wonder if it will be cheaper for early cars as they've already had everything sorted (me)? 😂

Redline Reviews: "The 2025 Lotus Emira 2.0T Is A Superlative Driver's Car With A Stonking Motor From AMG"

Far too many on here ignore depreciation by saying 'I don't care', great if you have enough cash to waste but not everyone does. I'd prefer not to lose a bundle on any car.

Redline Reviews: "The 2025 Lotus Emira 2.0T Is A Superlative Driver's Car With A Stonking Motor From AMG"

Is the manual Emira a daily car, no? My previous car, 981 Cayman S, was easily a daily car thanks to the PDK. Of the two which was an event to drive, the Emira every time. Because it's not a daily, certainly not with Sport suspension where I live, it's a special occasion in every way and every...

Paint Bubbling Wet vs Dry storage

Just to throw a bit of a spanner in the works, front panels are also composite but from a different manufacturer and to date no problems reported. This points to the process at fault and not in or out of rain.

    Aftermarket Keyless Entry on Emira?

I have a daily Toyota IQ/Scion from 2009, it has keyless entry. The car was £12k/$16k. Crazy a £100k/$140k doesn't have it.

Lotus Emira V8 in Testing & Other News

Emira with carbon kit? Got one from CT Carbon, and it fits straight into the existing fittings placed by Lotus. I’ve no doubt they intended to release a carbon edition at some point hence the fitting points. Lots of different carbon kits available on AliExpress for the Chinese Market.

Lotus excluded from UK 2030 ICE Ban

Lotus excluded from UK 2030 ICE Ban

Not to hit the sales in the UK perhaps? Lotus would certainly fall under 2,500 if that was the case, approx 900 registered in the UK in total at the moment.

3rd round of Redundancies at Lotus 😞

£70k from a dealership is just above UK prices. The spec of mine now is £106,750/$142,00 and I'd expect to put it up for £65k/$86,500 to get around £60k/$80k. There are fewer used here in the last 12 months, 87 a year ago and now 22 on the main selling website Autotrader. Prices are edging up a...

Id be happy if my armrest USBs worked 😂 Hopefully the update will sort it. That I have £50/$65 android headunit in my daily Toyota IQ/Scion that can play music within seconds and remember what was last played is a poor reflection on Lotus/Geely/Link & Co.

“Lotus’s traditional V6 sports car finally meets the Autocar (UK) timing gear”

The list of things repaired/replaced/to be repaired means I am now concerned over what will go wrong next, especially once it is out of warranty. Mine is one of the early cars, registered one before Harry Metcalfes I noticed the other day, so has been full of problems. The next owner will no...

“Lotus’s traditional V6 sports car finally meets the Autocar (UK) timing gear”

I've been keeping an eye on AT prices (UK) for a year now and other than an odd private sale now and then prices are hovering around the £60+ mark. We must ignore the Auto100.co.uk cars as they are running out of stock and got a great deal on them from Lotus. This is pretty much what they were...

I said on here a while ago that I wouldn't be surprised if Geely had Lotus go into administration, buy everything up for pennies on the £, write off all the debt, chuck all warranties for existing owners and start again. It's what I would do.
