Oddly, exactly 1 year today, I changed the oil again - this time at 3,872 miles. Filter clean, magnetic drain plug had only a thin layer of metal power on it. Good for another year.
I have no idea what parts are from US/Canada, but not surprised ,the US/Canada has a massive auto industry and auto parts suppliers.. I highly doubt there is any "doctoring" of the sticker, I would presume the penalty would be massive, that and this sticker is over a year ago - to what purpose...
From my 2024 window sticker (V6 Manual):
US/Canadian Parts Content: 10%
Major source of foreign content: UK 35%

Note: Parts content does not include final assembly, distribution, or other non parts costs

There is a good chance there will be an Emira or two at Katies Cars & Coffee tomorrow morning. But you have to get up early for it - gets very crowded by 7am. Weather permitting, I plan to go to Hollin Hall Cars & Coffee (Alexandria - Fort Hunt Road) Sunday morning 8-10am, I have DV with tan...
I also went through this (deposit on both - Emira and T). The main decision for me was I just enjoyed doing the Lotus so much, much more. I have had numerous 911s in the past, and love the way they just drive, but the Emira was so much more satisfying for me. T negatives for me were the...
If the entire to of the console (all the back and silver of the console) was one piece aluminum, I think it may give it a cool industrial look. Then again it may take away from the shifter mechanicals .
Agee, not going to have many takers at that price.
Nice!
All I received was a marketing email to test drive a new Lotus Emira (even though I took delivery on mine in April 2024).
Still waiting on the gift in the mail...
I am not a professional, but they may deter the "casual crook", but I do not think the casual crook would be looking to steal a car that stands out like a Lotus Emira. Unless someone left it unlocked with the key fob it in, but remembered to put the wheel or pedal lock on?
I used a pedal lock...
For what it is worth, I never understood carpet in cars. You do not stand in a car and most people do not drive barefoot. So the benefit of a "soft" surface for your feet are lost. Carpet is hard to clean and wears quickly when compressed and twisted (which is what you do when in a car).
For what it is worth, it looks much easier then opening the frunk of a 911 (996 and 997) with a dead battery. Basically you have to take the front driver side side wheel off, remove the fender inner lining and search for a pull cable. Had to do it on a 997 and 996. Trick was once you do it...
I did, see post 117 in this thread:
"Four prototypes made out of walnut.
The 2 inch diameter (middle two) felt best to me.
A 7/8 inch drill bit for the spring area works fine (about 9/16 deep.
I then used a 3/4 inch drill bit about 1/2 inch further and then pressed in a M12x1.5 nut in.
I will...
Geely owns Volvo and Polestar, so I would presume they would go there for hybrid ideas. Lotus already goes to Volvo for rear view mirror, turn signal and window switches (and I am guessing some electrical components and software) on the Emira.
Issue I see with a hybrid Emira is weight and...
