Not even gunna try to say yes...:) I see on Youtube that the exotic car rental places shy away from McLaren because of the cost of both maintenance and parts! To be honest it's above my pay-grade anyway, $100k more or less is about all I want to spend on a car. I'm not in the $300k+ crowd...

It has supermodel looks and terrific handling. It hooked me for sure and I put down a deposit right away. Sadly though when you take a serious look at the alternatives albeit sans manual trans, there is a lot of stuff out there that you can get without the ambiguous delivery date and...

I've reduced my stress by cancelling my deposit and keeping that money working for me! I'm betting that by the time I would be getting a car there will be plenty of slightly used ones up for sale..:)

Why do people keep insisting on comparing the Emira to cars costing 2-3x as much? And while there have been niggling little problems such as the weather stripping and seat belts I haven't heard about any serious issues so how would that put the Artura "light years ahead" of the Emira?

I'm thinking if all you have is a deposit it's refundable but once you commit to that order you are on the hook! Makes sense.

Yep my lowly 100hp Datsun 510 was one of the most fun cars I have ever owned. Took all afternoon to see 100mph but did perfect 4wheel drifts..:)

I'm sure you're right but I kind of resent the idea of paying nearly $100k for a car then having to shell out a few thousand more to make it deliver the power it should have in the first place, not to mention voiding my warranty. Hard pass for me!

Unless you're in the big cities they don't worry much about it here in So. Calif. I never ran one on my Corvette because it would have covered 30% of the air intake...and it ruined the look of the front imo!
