    Black pack and privacy glass

If you want the LOTUS badge in black, there is an easy way (without removing the individual letters):

Yep, I'd agree with these guys ^^^^

Lotus again delays FE delivery for me.

Yep, I've similarly not heard (deposit on the evening of the 11th July and I'm also after an i4) but I'm similarly relaxed (having taken a look at the cars on the factory tour, last week).

    My trip to Hethel

Hmmm, we saw the solid "vivid red" on a panel next to a magma red panel - the solid red was very much your run-of-the-mill postbox red and, in that moment, I realised why magma red was being offered as an FE colour.

    My trip to Hethel

Me, too! If left to my own devices I would have stood in front of the red and nimbus cars for the duration of the tour, weighing up interiors and wheels!

    My trip to Hethel

One of my fellow tour participants mentioned that the exhaust finishers are mounted to the bumper itself. We saw a number of cars with the black pack roof but I didn't see any with the black exhaust finishers!

Emira forged and cast wheel thread

True but I begrudge having to go to the time and cost with a brand new car, TBH.

    My trip to Hethel

Battery is in the boot/trunk, as was seen on the production line on Wednesday..

    My trip to Hethel

We didn't ask that question - too busy staring at the V6 crate motor, still wrapped, about to receive a supercharger ;) Nick, the tour guide, also mentioned some smoothing/machining of parts/linkages to make the shift smoother than standard.

    My trip to Hethel

Manual. From memory of Wednesday's tour, 4 ratios swopped out from the diesel Avensis gearbox. Some machining work also done to accommodate a part - was it the gearbox external oil cooler?

Emira forged and cast wheel thread

That's why I was intending to spec the silver wheels with a magma red car - that isn't how the production wheels looked on the factory tour. My comment here: https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/battery-lithium-or-not.1178/#post-26083

Emira forged and cast wheel thread

Based on this week's tour, Eagle7's render of the silver wheels is more accurate:https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/battery-lithium-or-not.1178/page-2#post-26134

    My trip to Hethel

See my post-tour comments in the lithium battery thread - I was impressed by Nimbus and my concerns regarding bronze undertones were put to rest. Magma red is still my first choice, though

    Battery - Lithium or not?

Battery - we saw the battery uncovered in the boot/trunk of one of the cars at the end of the production line. It looked like a standard sized lead battery to me....

    Battery - Lithium or not?

That makes two of us and, of everything that I saw yesterday, that was the biggest surprise for me and has meant aborting my plan for silver wheels on a magma red car - I think I will go for diamond cut as a result of the tour.
  16. P

    Battery - Lithium or not?

Certainly not on the wheels on the production line and, in the context of discussing the satin vs gloss black finish on the diamond cut version, we were told that the wheels on the production line were the production version (and so the diamond cut have a satin black, rather than gloss black...

    Battery - Lithium or not?

PS I think we need a separate wheel thread!
  18. P

    Battery - Lithium or not?

That is a very good virtual comparison and reflects my view of the wheels in the flesh.
  19. P

    Battery - Lithium or not?

The satin finish just made the wheels look very generic and the design didn't pop. Same as the cast version.

    Battery - Lithium or not?

Glad someone got it! Mind you, really not sure why the pattern on the back of the seats has any appeal :D

    Battery - Lithium or not?

Ah, I thought the question related to the stripe you can see on the headrest on the configurator....

Ah ha! Great to meet you today and appreciated the sounding board for the colour decisions! Craig

June delivery delay - Lotus now says July…

Afternoon factory tour today saw a partially assembled DV on the production line? My thoughts in the lithium battery thread.

    PPF or Ceramic

I couldn't stomach the full kit cost but the extended kit, possibly with the roof, sounds interesting. Knowing my luck, I'd suffer a chip on the way to Worcester!
  25. P

    Battery - Lithium or not?

Well that is interesting - I couldn't be shown it but I was told by two different lotus employees that the stripes weren't on the rear - something got lost in communication, clearly! Not doubting you at all - clearly I didn't explain the request properly.

    Battery - Lithium or not?

I itched for the phone in my pocket too many times to mention!

    Battery - Lithium or not?

Here's an update following an interesting tour around the factory: - wheel weights - no one (even Scott who was called after the tour) could clarify the weight difference between the cast and forged wheels. One for a Lotus engineer, I guess. I asked several lotus employees! - Seats - the...

    DARK VERDANT!?

Lotus really could do better. It is madness that some of us are taking annual leave to drive hundreds of miles, just for a glimpse of the potential colours, and paying for the privilege!

    My trip to Hethel

As my wife previously owned a "galaxy grey" Honda civic which would be more accurately described as bronze, I share your concern. Happy to add my thoughts to the various views already reported following the factory tours.

    My trip to Hethel

Same colour options in my head - just booked the factory tour for afternoon of Wednesday 20th April so that I can see them in the flesh (hopefully!)

Lotus Restarts Hethel Factory Tours After £100 Million Upgrade

I am tempted to book for mid April but ultimately I'd be doing so as I am keen to see magma red, hethel yellow and numbus in the flesh. Of course, there's no guarantee that cars in those colours will even be on the production line! That's a long round trip from the Midlands to face disappointment.

    G'Day from Devon

Thanks, @TomE . That all makes good sense. THere's part of me that thinks that if the car isn't going to rock up before September, it might as well wait until March - a long way away! By the way, did you ever release the i4 titbit that you intrigued us all with, following your factory visit...

    G'Day from Devon

My equally vague memory, I think I paid an initial deposit and then, when the call was received a few months later, that's when I could indicate whether I wanted a V6 FE (in which case I would have bene emailed a link to configure my V6) or would wait for the i4 (which was my decision), meaning...

    G'Day from Devon

Out of interest, where did that place you in the V6 queue? When I was called by Lotus in the Autumn (I placed my deposit on 11th July) I stated that I would wait for the i4. However, I'm contemplating the V6 - would I effectively join the back of the V6 queue if I tried ot move back into the...

Speculation: FE I4 will have 400HP and 480NM?

PS my only experience of paddles is my wife's diesel X1 and there is zero appeal to using the paddles in that car. Chalk and cheese with my high revving S2000.

Speculation: FE I4 will have 400HP and 480NM?

The point about the Emira being an individual's second or third car for 98% of owners is an interesting one. That may have been the case for the vast majority of owners of the more compromised (from a daily driver perspective) Lotus models. That is why I bought an S2000 twenty years ago, over an...

Has there been any leak regarding the Emira V6 lap time round Hethel

Quicker than the Evora for the Emira V6, and another 2 seconds quicker for the Emira i4 with DCT ;)

Speculation: FE I4 will have 400HP and 480NM?

Ah, but it will not have the tactile enjoyment of a manual gearbox, nor the aural pleasure of a V6 engine...
