Custom Wheels getting made - Flush with fender or not?

That seems like a reasonable solution.

Custom Wheels getting made - Flush with fender or not?

    1) It will probably not look that different in isolation. But park a car with fender flush wheels next to stock, and the fender flush wheels look “better” in my opinion. No experience with Emira, but based on my experience with aftermarket wheels on my Mustang, and before/after photos of Emiras...

    Driving shoes

Just to be on the safe side, and make sure my recommendation was reasonable, I took my car for a 45 minute Sunday afternoon drive, with lots of heel and toe and throttle blips. The I can vouch for the Xero HFS II. It’s kind of like recommending a candy to my kids during Halloween. I have to...

    Comparison: Lotus Emira vs GT

When my warranty runs out, I’d love to have $50k to give to JUBU to do a DeMan style engine and driveline build on my Emira.

    Comparison: Lotus Emira vs GT

I think the car would feel wild with 500 hp/400 lb-ft. I’m not sure it would be better though.

    Comparison: Lotus Emira vs GT

Sometimes I look at Evora GTs for sale on BaT, remember when I rented one for 4 days, and think I should have gotten one of those instead of my Emira. The zanier, less coherent styling, cooler colors, and cheaper-feeling-but-more-unique-and-racecar interior, have an attraction of their own...

Motorsport Green! Why couldn’t they make an Emira in Motorsport Green?!?!

    Comparison: Lotus Emira vs GT

One area the Evora obliterates the Emira- paint color choices. I don't think most of the color choices on the Emira really get it quite right. They have too many "sophisticated" colors and not enough wild and crazy ones.

    Butt indentation on the seats.

I thought you wanted a groove in the seat. It's like breaking in a new baseball glove to fit your hand and your hand alone. You can point to that groove and say, there, that's MY groove! I worked long and hard to make that! Am I alone here?

Lotus Evora vs Emira $ per car

If they did that, they wouldn’t have a new edition to sell once the enthusiasm for the first cars wore off.

Lotus Evora vs Emira $ per car

It's like making a more cohesive package for less money with maybe 5% compromise wasn't enough! That said, I'd love to have an Evora GT parked next to my Emira in my garage.

Lotus Evora vs Emira $ per car

One of the "fixes" that they made in the Emira was throttle response. There's been a little discussion of that, but it hasn't been given the full attention it should have. The varying throttle response in the Evora is a big detractor in my opinion. Although I don't have personal experience with...

I've done many mods. Will they still repair unrelated stuff?

Let me clarify- call and ask the service manager "hypothetically" and then act accordingly.

I've done many mods. Will they still repair unrelated stuff?

You could always call and ask the service manager first... I feel like I know what the answer would be, but it might be worth the ask if the guy is cool.

Lotus Evora vs Emira $ per car

I think there’s a sense of nostalgia for the Evora 400 and GT (2017+ Evora) here in the United States. There was appreciation for both cars when new in the automotive press, but it seems they are now being held out as “the last of the analog sportscars”. I think in reality there’s not that much...

I've done many mods. Will they still repair unrelated stuff?

Understandable. But I don’t think you’re going to get an answer with any degree of certainty from forum members. It’s probably going to vary a lot from dealership to dealership, what problem you want to resolve, etc. I have read horror stories online of people getting warranty blacklisted for...

I've done many mods. Will they still repair unrelated stuff?

By law they have to. Paint and power steering have nothing to do with the mods you listed. I guess they could try to deny warranty, but I don’t think Lotus USA customer service would be very happy with a dealership that did that. Also, it behooves a dealership to do warranty work- they get...

I've done many mods. Will they still repair unrelated stuff?

3rd cat delete- unmonitored cat, should make absolutely no difference in how the car runs, requires no tuning JUBU ecu- I don’t know enough about this to comment, but I doubt they’re going to want to mess with a non-stock ecu if you have engine issues Eventuri- no tuning required to run, but...

    Aftermarket wheels for the Emira

Great job on the design! Your wheels manage to look unique and at the same time like they were designed specifically for the Emira (as they were)! Most aftermarket wheels look exactly like what they are- wheels designed to look cool but not to compliment the design of any specific car. Y’all...

    Emira VS My Past Cars

Thank you for taking the time to do this. Very enjoyable reading! Would you mind doing a write up for either or both of the GT350R / GT350? I feel like that car is a kindred spirit to the Emira in a strange way.

Is it weird I like driving it a lot more than modern 911's?

If I had the wherewithal, or if I were even more financially irresponsible, I’d love to have a Boxster Spyder next to my Emira in the garage. Not even necessarily the newest one. Top down, NA engine response, I think it’d be a fantastic companion to the Emira.

    Full Electric Shutdown

The upside is that the service manager at Lotus of Dallas, Gio Ortiz, had been great and is being very thorough with what’s going on with my car. Also, Myrna, customer service from Lotus USA, was an absolute rockstar helping me set up the tow to the dealership. If anyone from Lotus USA reads...

    Full Electric Shutdown

My car is currently at the dealer getting a similar issue resolved as I’m typing. Briefly (there’s a long, long saga I will probably write up someday for the forum), I was driving my car on a Sunday afternoon when everything except the engine went “dead”. Instrument display, ICE display, door...

Is it weird I like driving it a lot more than modern 911's?

I reject your facts and double down on my ill-informed opinion. The 911 is an enormous boat of a car and a shadow of what it used to be. The Emira, despite weighting around 3,200 lbs., is a razor sharp featherweight!

Is it weird I like driving it a lot more than modern 911's?

The 911 (which I have admittedly never driven) is a big car now. There's just no way to hide size when it comes to cars. The wheelbase has increased 7 inches since the 993. Amazing!

Is it weird I like driving it a lot more than modern 911's?

When I was a kid reading Road & Track, and all the other car magazines, all I focused on was power numbers and performance stats. Now that I can actually drive a car, I completely understand how those numbers are largely irrelevant. It's about how the car makes you feel. I haven't had the...

    Future Classic: Lotus Emira V6

It probably won’t, but I think it’s harder for a car to achieve that level of admiration today. There’s much less cultural interest in and awareness of automotive hobbies in general, than there used to be. I have seen it change even in my short 40 years here. In American any way, it may be...

Dude? Where are you buying your clothes from? How sweaty are you? WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHILE YOU DRIVE? All black clothes- are you an undertaker? Steve Jobs’ ghost? Maybe it’s not the best car for you. Just kidding! That does look horrible! Maybe the leather didn’t get some finishing chemical...

I have ice grey, and I did Gyeon about 1000 miles in. No problems with dye transfer, but I haven’t worn brand new jeans or other clothes with bright dyes either. No problem keeping it clean, just wipe it down if something makes a mark. I’m glad I went with the light interior. It makes the...
