    Savage Geese review

What do y’all think? Overall, I think the review is fairly representative of the car. I have never driven the competition, so I can’t say anything about how. Cayman/Boxster/GT/GT4 compare. I do agree that there’s just nothing else like the Emira on the market.

What did you do to your Emira today?

Fantastic car collection! I am a big fan of modern Lamborghinis! Do you have any other interesting cars?

What did you do to your Emira today?

What did I do with my Emira today? I made a Lambo jealous! I was taking a quick trip to the grocery store with my daughter to pick up a birthday cake, when lo and behold, I see a yellow Huracan headed the opposite direction. I thought about doing a 180 and chasing it down, as I love Huracans...

Published TSB - CARB compliance ECM update

I feel like I’m living inside a John Grisham novel. “A Time To Stall” “The Lotus Brief” Porter’s gonna blow the lid off the case in this sleepy town, and it ain’t never gonna be the same after.

    Lightweight seats

I don’t really know why OEMs get uptight about stuff like this. I highly doubt Lotus will offer a seat option that competes with what you have to offer. So why hold back of OK’ing Bridge of Weir? All this does is drive business to a different leather supplier. Come on Lotus, you used to be cool.

    Alignment/Suspension/Stability Issue

Ugh. I hate stuff like this. My suggestion remains the same, precise documentation of who said what, when and where.

    Break in Oil Change?

I'll be doing a change at 1,000. I am thinking of sending off for an oil analysis as well.

    New correspondence from Lotus

Yes, you already have one, but you could have two. And historically, with Lotus, two is one, and one is none. Meaning you better have one to drive while the other is in the shop.

    First Emira has hit BaT

Ok, now whoever got the closest needs to contact the guy that promised the Tillett buckets and Jubu upgrade.

In a way, isn't the ongoing instability Lotus being the most possibly Lotus they could be?

Track vs. Sport mode with US-spec cars

In my experience, it’s perfectly safe for street use in the dry. I haven’t tried it in the wet yet. The tires on this car are pretty dang wide and sticky, and the power isn’t so much that it overwhelms the grip unless you’re trying to get it unstuck, or full throttle around a corner. Very...

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

I don’t know what number of vehicles Lotus has to sell in the US to be successful in this market. I think they will have a tough road to hoe. The Lotus brand cachet is based on an almost cottage industry production of well priced, low volume, crafted sports cars built with an ethos of less is...

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

Ugh. 6 warranty claims in 2 years would be discouraging to say the least.

Agreed. Lotus isn’t “luxury” to me either. Niche is the perfect way to describe them. I

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

If I had my way, an American made all aluminum NA V8, a la Corvette or Mustang, would be where the Emira’s engine is. The supercharged Toyota V6 is probably the next best thing as far as parts, durability, reliability, etc.
  17. C

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

I'm not into brand snobbery. I don't understand why someone wouldn't buy a C8 just because it's a GM product. I've always thought that the "prestige" brands are too often given a pass on quality control and absurd maintenance schedules just because they are exclusive. For example, I really...

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

I think the aesthetics of the Evora GT lends itself to wilder colors. Dynamically, I would think that the Emira could be very easily tuned to feel almost identical to the Evora GT, and vice versa.

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

    How does your Vette compare?

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

Also, I am sure that the factory will come up with some harder edged edition of the Emira, at which point I’ll consider buying those factory parts form my Emira. On the other hand, I went down the endless modification rabbit hole on my Mustang GT and made that car, let’s say, and acquired...

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

My Emira has the sport suspension. I’d like to drive it back to back with an Evora GT to compare. I rented a 2020 Evora GT in 2021, which is what led my to buying the Emira. I seem to remember that car being more direct than my Emira, but I don’t know if that was because (1) I had never driven...

My Emira and Evora GT, Lotus Love

I love it! The Evora GT looks something like the coolest futuristic tuner/race car imaginable from Gran Turismo when I was a teenager (late 90s/early 2000s). The Emira looks more like a low volume, super sophisticated sports car from an Italian design house! I debated whether to buy an...

How long can a dealership have a car for warranty work?

Depends on your state’s lemon law, if they have them.
  25. C

    Alignment/Suspension/Stability Issue

I would be fine with the dealership’s “terms” of repairing under warranty. Why? Documentation, documentation, documentation. Every phone conversation, email, text. Time, date, conversation as precisely as possible. Call log, etc. I don’t know what the laws in your state are, but in Texas, it’s...

Took the car out last night...

I'd like to drive the car everywhere, everyday, but alas, I can't. But! I did get to take it out last night, and now that I'm no longer afraid to put it in track mode.... <iframe src="https://giphy.com/embed/l0HU7yHIK6Nc3WcE0" width="480" height="270" frameBorder="0" class="giphy-embed"...

Am I an idiot if I skip PPF?

I don't think PPF is absolutely necessary or that you're an idiot for skipping it. However, I did get mine full PPF for the following reasons: (1) I plan on keeping the car for the long haul. This is likely the first and last true sports car that I will buy. I want to keep it as nice as...

    First Emira has hit BaT

My guess is $122k if it sells at all. I think there are enough people backing out that you could probably find what you want at a dealership.

    First Emira has hit BaT

Let's play a Price-Is-Right game on if it sells, what it sells for. Winner gets a pair of Tillett seats with color matched OEM leather pads, and JUBU 500 power upgrade.

Los Angeles- thinking of putting a manual emira on Turo...am i crazy?

Alternatively, I rented a 2020 Evora GT on Turo while on a 10th anniversary wedding trip with my wife. That experience changed my life! When we got back from that trip I knew I had to have a Lotus. So in a weird way I owe my Emira ownership to some brave soul who decided to Turo their Lotus...

    Moton suspension upgrade

I have swapped stock shocks and dampeners for Bilsteins on an S197 Mustang, but not for anywhere near that kind of money. Not too long ago, a little bit more than the $7,000ish this setup costs would have bought you a very high quality double A arm setup with tubular K member...

Great video from SG on Engine Break-In

I realize the break-in has been discussed in other threads, so this is probably a redundant conversation. I agree that salesmen are not necessarily the font of product information that they should be. I have found that I am almost always much more informed about what I want to buy than the...

Great video from SG on Engine Break-In

My salesman told me that there was no break in. Explicitly. I asked directly. This is not what I have been doing, as I didn't think that it made any sense. Did y'all's salesmen tell you any differently? Also, did they give you any schedule to follow?
