NZ new delivery.......not a great start

Bear in mind these cars were probably built about 3 months ago, given the time for UK/NZ shipping and local registration.

Sounds OK. They probably don’t want to get too far into a V6 vs i4 debate, as it depends a lot on what you’re looking for.

More price news in the UK due today

Yes, in the UK you can cancel at any time up until you sign the contract as part of Checkout, which is usually about 30 days before delivery.

    Emira Review Index [I4 FE]

Great to hear it's coming "soon" ;) Although you can't paste a copy of the whole review, I'm sure a quote from the summary would be OK! No doubt they'll have made comparisons with the Cayman as well as the Emira V6 :)

    Emira Review Index [I4 FE]

Harry, Smoking Tire and Pistonheads have said they've driven the cars, written reviews but are under embargo by Lotus until 8 August. I think others have mentioned it too.

NZ new delivery.......not a great start

Sorry to read this, that’s disappointing and I would have expected those to have been picked up during PDI. On the plus side, I think those are all known issues with known fixes, so hopefully your dealer can sort them out. Some need a software update, which should be quick. I guess getting...

    I4 review 8.8.2023

An I4 reviews thread has been started and moderators will curate it as the reviews are published after the embargo is lifted on 8 Aug. https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/emira-review-index-i4-fe.3474/ This will work similarly to the previous reviews thread, which covered the V6 and has been...

    Fitting a battery conditioner... Do's and Don'ts

I've used a similar arrangement for my 2011 Evora for 11 years with the CTEK cable running across the boot seal and had no noticeable impact on the rubber seal or the CTEK cable. The car is on the CTEK all the time it isn't being driven, including periods of 3-5 months storage.

What OBDII Scanner is Recommended for use with the Emira?

The majority of iPhone and Android OBD2 apps work with this. It's more about what features you want from the app and whether those are in a basic free version or paid upgrade. I use InCarDoc as the free version gives a decent exportable report and it will let you clear the majority of codes...

New Lotus Flagship Store in London…( Coming Soon!) /s

They advertised for Lotus Experts to work at the store. A few existing Lotus owners applied and were rejected, on the basis they didn't know enough about luxury retailing. I guess Lotus think it's easier to train luxury retailing experts about the cars than train Lotus experts about luxury...

    Homegrown Emira merch

Bear in mind if you do decide to sell these to other members, Lotus will probably come after you to stop you using the Lotus and Emira logos. They are rather strong on stopping people using the brand on unofficial items. We had a big problem a few years ago with some club shirts we had made...

A reminder of why we adore this car!

When you unlock the car it turns on the ignition, so if the AC was on when you turned off and locked the car it will resume on the same settings.

V6 FE's available for immediate delivery

In the UK you only contractually commit at Checkout, which is about 30 days before delivery. At that point the car has usually been built or is in production. Hence there are a lot of orphaned cars as people are cancelling when asked to sign the contract.

    1000ml service?!?

Odd and inconsistent with previous statements from Lotus. When they first published the service schedule there was as no post running in service at 1000 miles, unlike the Evora. Lots of people queried it and they confirmed it was no longer needed. I wonder if this is Lotus or Toyota changing...

V6 FE's available for immediate delivery

People in the UK have been able to access these cancelled orders via dealers for several months. Lotus seem to have abandoned trying to part-match to existing deposit holders and offer to them first. Seems odd not to let them know. I have a deposit for a Q2 build and they haven’t contacted me.

Exactly. We’re watching this thread closely in case someone starts taking it off at a tangent about climate change or state-imposed emissions regulations. Let’s not get into a debate about which state builds the best cars :)

Lotus to cut 200 jobs as a result of disappointing 2022 sales and £145m losses

Folks, sorry for the delay in replying on these, it's been a busy few days with other stuff. We have clear forum rules about political posts. There are a few topics which can have a tendency to shift from legitimate to grey area to clearly political, sometimes quickly. We tend to jump in and...

Convince me to order this thing

Only two I’m aware of. Faults and fixes are a reasonable concern if you live 2+ hours from a dealer. By year 2 of production I expect it will be a very different picture to the first 6-9 months.

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Just posted by Todd Rosenthal from Lotus of Naples on one of the Facebook groups: I was just at Goodwood Festival of Speed and was able to drive the Electre and the i4 Emira up/down the Goodwood hill as a passenger. I’m with Lotus of Naples and to answer questions about US deliveries and...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Hey, I’ve still got TWO Emira deposits in place, which is two more than some people on here! :) I just loved dealing with LCC so much, and sharing the watch party with all the North American folks, that I joined the back of the queue again.

Lotus to cut 200 jobs as a result of disappointing 2022 sales and £145m losses

The first part of your post clearly breached the rules. The other part of your post queried whether a Chinese built car could count as a Lotus. Would you make the same statement about a UK built Nissan or a US built BMW? The deletion stands.

Lotus to cut 200 jobs as a result of disappointing 2022 sales and £145m losses

Making statements like “I’ll never by a product made in China”. Versus “I wonder if Geely will move engineering to China”. It’s pretty clear.

Lotus to cut 200 jobs as a result of disappointing 2022 sales and £145m losses

Folks, a gentle reminder about the forum rules on political posts is appropriate here. Commentary on the parent company of Lotus and their actions is OK, but shifting that to discussing the actions of the Chinese government or whether to buy Chinese products is not.

Lotus to cut 200 jobs as a result of disappointing 2022 sales and £145m losses

Agreed. I hope the at risk staff have actually been told and know how this will be handled. Finding out in the media and not knowing if you’re in the 200 or not would be terrible. I know a lot of senior Geely management were at Hethel last week before Goodwood. I guess that may have...

Lotus to cut 200 jobs as a result of disappointing 2022 sales and £145m losses

The reports suggest it’s not production staff. They need to get cars built and sold to get the sales numbers up. I suspect it’ll be supporting functions and some of the middle tier they’ve added over the last 2-4 years.

Vivid Red Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Welcome to the forum stratus and thanks for posting. That looks like another shot from the Lotus Milan event early in the year (check the red/white/blue stripes on the pillar).
