You’re right it’s not relevant if it’s a new unregistered car. But if it’s a used car and was originally VAT Q then it IS relevant. That’s the case with one of the recently advertised used Emiras. A qualifying new owner can maintain the VAT exemption and reclaim it against their business...

It’s a pre-Aug price increase car so is at the list price that applied when it was built.

But it's a VAT Qualifying car, so a private purchaser has VAT on top. I don't think they've included the VAT in the advertised price, as a business purchaser would pay the price shown.

Several seem to be with specialist performance car dealers. Possibly some are on Sale or Return, others may be cars being flipped by the dealer and some are probably trade ins.

There is still a very full UK order book, with V6 deposits for cars scheduled for delivery through next year. I have two deposits in place, one was spec-locked in mid August and is supposedly a Q2 2024 build. The second deposit is currently in the V6 FE queue but I intend to switch it to Base...

I’d heard both UK demo cars and first customer cars were delayed (at quite short notice - like 1-2 weeks) to Oct. Maybe they are doing some software tweaks to address the feedback from the press reviews about gear change and tune? :)

On track you need to be below the circuit's static and drive-by noise limits, on the road (sports/tour) you don't.

In theory Lotus could publish this info on VSIC (https://vsic.lotuscars.com/) but they don't seem to be updating any of the Emira sections so far.

Each software update is for a sub-system, so cars that haven't been to a dealer for a while could need more than one update installed. Usually the dealer will check the VIN against the info from Lotus on software updates, service bulletins and recalls then do everything that's required for that...

It's when the exhaust valve starts to open, so if idle is 1000rpm then in Track the exhaust valve starts to open at 1200rpm. In Tour it opens above 4000rpm and in Sport it is open at 1000rpm (idle).

They will be done at your next scheduled dealer visit, usually annual service. Unless they are safety-related, in which case they will send a recall letter to the owners of affected cars.
