Everyone chill... like I've said many times before, it's like Grandma's at Thanksgiving. It will be ready when it's ready, and Grandma is in the corner being silent because she's upset it's not ready yet too. Grandma is well intentioned and wants to give you something you'll love and remember.

I assume what you mean is that is was a solid glossy color and not a pearlescent color shifting kind of white? I spec’s my order to just be an homage to another mid-engine car with a Japanese motor, the NSX-R. And as long as it meets that I’ll be happy.

I have to think that if they have US cars in production that they feel pretty confident on when they will receive US emissions approval.

The good news is we are starting to get cold again here in the Midwest. Won't really need a sport car until April at this point anyways. Hopefully it happens by then, if not, I guess I'll wait some more.

It's terrible when your dealer lies to you. My dealer has been nothing but honest. I asked him if he had any update on when NA cars would get approval and he told me that his wife is leaving him and that he fears his kids won't remember him as he grows old alone. His open honesty really made...

I think this really shows what is going on. Dealers solely know the allocation build months that they received. They are going to keep moving towards those dates until they have better knowledge. Lotus HQ on the other hand is probably more aware of what will really happen, even if it's a...

I think he meant not having his full deposit in a higher interest account has cost him about $2500 in interest that he could have made, because he kept it fluid so that he could pay for the car if it arrived on time. Not interest on $2500.

I reiterate my point. They KNOW how many allocations they have. They shouldn't have to "think" that someone may get an allocation.

I've paid $2500 so far for my nothing. That feels above MSRP for nothing.

anyone else worried about the negative attention? or has already received negative attention?

I’m very worried about the negative attention. Because as soon as you buy a car like this your wife is going to remind you about how much you spent on it and that means she can’t be questioned about her spending habits. The negative attention takes it from a $100k car to $200k in no time.

    The 13 Emira Colors

Yeah, I wouldn't have done red interior with yellow. I don't have enough self confidence for that combination.

    The 13 Emira Colors

My true second option was probably Hethel Yellow. I went Mist White in the end, because I decided that 90% of my enjoyment of the car was going to be from the inside, and I really wanted the red interior. If I was using a more modest interior, I would want a louder exterior color (hence Hethel...

My 2 cents (I ordered Mist White, so take that into account) Dark Verdant probably will be far easier to resell later, because people tend to like green on Lotus. Mist White is likely going to be one of the lesser chosen colors (Someone posted these pie charts previously, which is why I think...

Agreed. But that being said, I'm curious what quarter causes a significant number of people to walk away from orders. Like if we still don't have any deliveries in Q2-Q3 2024, I could see a large number of people deciding to just buy something else. The ICE days are near their end, and you'd...

To me if they are starting the full US production (which is still in question maybe a tiny bit) it means that they know exactly when and how the certification process will resolve itself.

This logic becomes a little dicey for me. So let's say base comes in 2025 for V6. There are already a number of orders for base placed. Lotus has said 2026 will be last ICE production year. How many V6 US slots do you think are unaccounted for in that two year window?

Someone may know the exact answer, but I'm going to guess it has a lot to do with how the businesses are structured. Like Lamborghini rolls up through VW USA, Ferrari through Fiat-Chrysler USA. Geely owns Lotus and Volvo, so I feel like they could do something similar with offsets, but a key...

Just disagree. V6 is the one with worse emissions, and emissions requirements have/and are only getting more strict. The Evora being fine means nothing years later.
