I got one quote back from Compare the Market and it was over £1000. I'm hoping the underwriters will get it onto their systems soon but it sounds like your need is more urgent. I am speaking to AIB currently following a recommendation on here. I can update tomorrow on the premium when they call...
Yes, this Friday. I did a V6 drive there ages ago but it was a Saturday and there was loads of traffic and roadworks. I'm hoping it's going to be a bit quieter on a weekday. My focus will be on the auto and manual shifting this time. I just hope I get the opportunity to get a feel for it.
Sorry to resurrect this old thread but it would be good to hear what people are being quoted currently. I'm waiting on the i4 but as that's not found its way into the underwriters' books yet, I've been looking at the V6 auto as a guide. The best I've got so far from Compare the Market is £850...
I just tried with the Compare the Market and only got 1 quote for the i4 and it was £3K with a £1K excess! I tried the auto V6 instead and there were a lot more but still al lot higher than last time I looked. Lowest was around £850 with high excess.
I can't believe that after 2.5 years and the...
Many thanks for the update on this. I have experience of the BMW and Audi DCTs so it will be interesting to see how the AMG stacks up during my test drive.
Great to hear you'll be off the leash soon. Less than a week to wait for my own test drive experience now but it would still be great to hear your thoughts. How are you finding the manual shifts?
Sorry to see you go but this thread will forever bear your name :)
Enjoy the 650s - I'm sure it'll be a blast. Pics on the I'm out thread when you can!
I also had a call around 5:30. Unfortunately I couldn’t take it but they left a message to say the demo car is due in early March and they are taking bookings. It almost feels like the end of the race is in sight!
Many thanks for the update. It sounds like the DCT response is proving bearable which is encouraging. I was sploilt by the lightning fast shifts in my E90 M3. Even the newer Audi RS3 I drive now feels slower than that. Hopefully, this will be no worse. I've not tried the Porsche PDK but from...
Congratulations Norm. Overall it sounds like a positive experience which is great news. I guess the thing that's been most debated is the DCT shift. Many reviews have commented on a significant lag between the paddle action and the actual shift (like even up to 1 second). It would be great to...
Just cross posting a link to a recent review from a Chinese owner who took delivery in December. He makes specific reference to the DCT lag. I really hope Lotus will address this during the extended UK delivery hiatus. 1 sec perceived delay would feel like an eternity.
I just heard back from David at LCC and they are sticking to the official line that my I4 will be delivered before the summer with dates to be confirmed when it starts production. They also stated that I will be able to book a test drive "some weeks" before the handover. Hopefully this equates...
Well currently they're not even singing from the same crib sheet it seems. I was feeling pretty gloomy about it this morning but now I can feel a glimmer of hope, I'll muster up the courage to call LCC tomorrow to try and get a consensus view.
I had no idea it was that quick. I had assumed it would be a long and bureaucratic process. Agreed then - it doesn't really explain such a significant display unless it requires serious work to meet the requirements. I suppose they may also have finally adopted the policy of under-promise and...
The only ADAS feature that would really interest me is Adaptive Cruise Control which can be genuinely useful on long journeys. The rest falls in to the nanny category for me.
My one worry is that when the i4 finally emerges in the UK, there could be a possibility that Lotus have added new ADAS...
LOL - glad it's not just me. Every time I tell my wife about another delay, she asks me if I'm ready to cancel it now. It's almost like she doesn't want me to have an expensive, impractical, (potentially) unreliable, showy sports car :ROFLMAO:
I was under the impression from Lynne that they have made an exact replica of the original cover, just in carbon. Here's the best pic I could find online & it seems to have similar gaps at the back that resemble the outline of the carbon vents...
Also, welcome.
After reading about so many people cancelling, it's good to hear that you've doubled down on your order! I'm also in the 2.5 club like Cutting42 and learning the art of patience. We will all have achieved a Zen like enlightenment by delivery day.
If this is accurate then it disproves the assertion by Lotus that global supply chain issues are the reason. The issue must be either type approval for only some countries (including UK) or more worryingly, a decision to fulfill overseas ahead of UK orders?
I've not cancelled as, despite everything, I still want one :sneaky:
I guess I'm in a fortunate position that I don't need a second car right now so I can afford to sit it out. I'll also have a bit more cash put away to pay for it.
I feel sorry for the CS team. They have to read a script and...
