Rory, I don’t think you have much to worry about. My V6 FE got stuck part-built during the 2023 summer Hethel factory shutdown and has been issue free for 18 months and 13,000 miles. It was frustrating at the time but turned out to be a top quality build.
No painting required on mine. The body-coloured handle is separate to the spring-loaded mechanism and gets transferred.

Could your frequent low battery warnings be from the Lotus e-call subsystem? I think there have been previous posts in this forum about low charge messages from that system’s separate battery in low-use Emiras.
