    Popping noise near subwoofer

This is NOT official, but an educated explanation: - As the dashboard and info screen come alive the slip second you open the door, it's being discussed as this is the cause. - the system booting up if you will. This also makes sense as both audio amplifiers always have a 12V feed, they do not...

    Popping noise near subwoofer

Hi CoryC Sorry to call you out on this but it's definitely not the air pressure relief flap causing this. The Flap (located in the right rear of the car, next to the sub) is designed only to release air when closing the doors, the flap cannot move in the opposite direction - Have a look at...

Weird sound when unlocking and opening door.

I posted this in a similar thread after reading this one and thought I'd shed some light on the OEM subwoofer we all have installed. I'll try my best to be PC:- Take a look at the pictures attached. This is my sub I've removed due to all the same reasons you are all describing - sorry, but I...

    Popping noise near subwoofer

I don't believe there is a fix available, but we all have it. It's just whether it bothers you or not. After completely upgrading my audio system I can confirm this was the cause of the problem.

KEF Audio Upgrade Parts - Now Available!

Hi, Not bad at all. Have a read of the below:- To remove the main door panels – There’s only x2 10mm bolts underneath the arm rest on the main door card. Once these bolts are removed, slowly & carefully lift the panel UP (don't pull towards you) and disconnect the wiring harness plugs and...

Hi Anthony, With regards to cutting the inner door cards - I've attached before and after pictures of the inner plastic door card. Here you can see the amount of cutting required. Basically you're cutting off the original speaker box / mount - I used a Dremel tool to complete both cutting and...

I would suggest taking up the dealer on their offer for a replacement Sub and see if it makes a difference. I may get criticized for saying this, but I do think the original stereo is just no where near the quality I personally expected considering the Lotus / KEF marketing hype. Should you...

Hi @Go Kart, No other water ingress to report from my side. The sub is a "Free-to-air" design, this is how water enters the speaker. The OEM sub also has a drain in the base, so water isn't getting passed the speaker into the car. Hope this helps clear up the subject?

Hi, No problem & happy to help where I can. To answer your question - No, just move the seat forward. The pull-out trim panel is the panel below the rear speaker - no tools required, just a bit of a tug. The same access panel on the other side allows access to the rear fuse box etc.

Hi, My car was also a December 2022 delivery. I'm not guaranteeing this is the problem, however, when removing the OEM sub from my Emira, as you'll see from the picture attached, it had water ingress. Here's what I find interesting - My car had been garaged for the last 3 months, it was last...
