    Race to the first i4

That's useful information, thanks! May have to get in touch with JCT600 and see what their i4 demo status is!

    Race to the first i4

I found the post, although they don't get to starting the engine can definitely see the yellow car is indeed an i4 when they look through the rear window!

    Lotus Type 135 EV sportscar

It's probably more of a case of will Geely state the obvious, Lotus probably will have to toe the party line even if internally they may share similar sentiments to AM. Additionally, with EV models already on the market Lotus are unlikely to be wanting to talk down electric. In the UK market...

    Race to the first i4

If I4s are indeed going to be with German dealers in a couple of weeks time then things are definitely looking more promising (along with Craig's post above). I'm still going to keep my hopes in check until we are able to see something more definitive though!

    First Edition vs Base Spec

He's referring to the FE2.0 batch of cars not the I4 (a NA thing where the FE allocations over there came in two batches)

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

From what I've seen posted the NA Lotus/dealer relationship is a more traditional one compared to the UK. The agency model used by Lotus UK is becoming more common in the UK, Volvo (possibly no surprise with the Geely link) and Mercedes are two other brands who have adopted it and I believe...

That's fair enough, still gives a general idea of where it came from, thanks!

Out of interest where did you hear that from? Would definitely be good if true, but I'm not going to get my hopes up yet...

    Rear Wings

I'm also not a fan of them, I think they ruin the looks of the car, same with any other body add-ons. But that's just my personal opinion, if you think a wing would enhance your car, go for it. As to the car's value, I guess it all depends on what the buyer is looking for and what other cars...

Lotus Emira interior is pretty much Lynk & Co...

Using switches from the parts bin available to Lotus through Geely definitely isn't an issue for me, they're been well integrated into the design and spending time developing their own bespoke switchgear really wouldn't have added anything to the car in my opinion. I think the guard is part of...

    Cold start stalling

I have noticed from posts on this forum that in Australia there does seem to be at least some impact from fuel used. I'm sure out Aussie friends will correct me if I'm wrong but it appears that legislation there currently runs to equivalent of Euro 5, in part due to the quality of the fuel...

Lotus Emira interior is pretty much Lynk & Co...

Yep, Eagle7 is saying he could find the Emira controls on the dutch website (screenshot above), and that if he knew the part number for the version with physical buttons he could look for that too.

    More details for KEF Audio

In the video they don't seem to mention anything about there being a KEF driver in the dash (someone correct me if I missed it), I wonder if this was because they didn't realise there was anything there or whether they thought it would detract from their 'no tweeter high up' argument so omitted...

    More details for KEF Audio

Yep, that's what he was implying, there couldn't possibly be any other reason surely... oh wait the base non-KEF system isn't going to have the Uni-Q speakers and they've probably just designed the one A-pillar trim to use for FE and (eventually) base. Talking of sneaky, they're posting the...

    New badging

FE1 and FE2 are designations only used in the NA market to differentiate between batches of allocations, it is not a new version of the car (for the rest of us there is just the First Edition), the only differences between the batches (as far as I'm aware) being expanded colour choice and...

    Race to the first i4

That's good to hear, fingers crossed that is indeed the case and not an example of Lotus having not yet given them the bad news to pass on.
  17. PsymonR

    Race to the first i4

Type approval may well indeed be the cause of the delay. If it is then where they need to be more open is around why it is causing such a delay. It certainly shouldn't be the process itself, as if started today it should be complete mid March going by VCA timelines. And if not the process...

    Race to the first i4

That's not good if true, not heard anything about such a delay myself yet or seen anything anywhere else, last week all was still on target, but as we know from past experience things can go downhill quickly... I was checking on type approval timelines and there has been no change from the 6...

    Race to the first i4

Just came to post the same, Lotus CC replied to me to say the I4 on the website was added in error (though as I post this it is still online, wonder how long before they take it down). They also said that they're still working towards the previously stated timescale, so "by summer" is still all...

    Race to the first i4

I find it pretty common for LHD car renders to be used in configurators or when the car is coming soon so that didn't stand out to mention. Renders missing obvious components of the car on the other hand isn't the best look!

    Race to the first i4

I'm not disputing that the advert looks to be for an I4, the price checks out too. I'm more just wondering about the overall accuracy of the posting, including timescale. There should still be a gear selector! If they've uploaded a badly rendered image, what else about the advert is incorrect?

    Race to the first i4

Interesting spot, as CraigO says the communication was that they were looking to deliver the cars by summer, so it could be that Lotus had given extra wiggle room in their delay timescales that they've ended up not needing. But then again the 4-6 week timescale looks to be the standard for...

    Race to the first i4

I should have said that I'm fully expecting non-China cars to still be 360hp, but with there having been some speculation about it from a dealer in the US it'd be useful to see if I4s being distributed outside of China have a different engine designation. (and yes, having read the USA delivery...

    Race to the first i4

Have you been given the VIN or just been told there is one assigned to your order? If you do have it it'd be interesting to see what the engine identification is. The VIN decoder for the US has two options in the 7th position for the engine: 'A' for the V6 and 'M' for the 400hp (China) I4...

    GT4 Emira for 2024 BGT & EGT

Autosport has put an article up today about the Emira entering the British GT championship: https://www.autosport.com/BGT/news/lotus-brand-returns-to-british-gt-in-2024/10568947/ There is also a news article British GT Championship website...

    Newbie Questions

The tuning of both the I4 engine and DCT were done in conjunction with Mercedes/AMG. Attempting to set the DCT up with the Toyota engine was probably never an option (even if Lotus had wanted to investigate that as an option), and using a different gearbox with the Merc engine was probably also...

    Race to the first i4

That's good news, I think the first non-China I4 that we've heard about being in transit, hope your car doesn't have too many delays en-route! I think that's unlikely to be the reason for the delay, if it was and following the GR86 logic, why weren't lotus keen to get I4s out of the door...

USA CARB stickers available now so Emiras should get delivered soon

Lotus of Naples took at least two Emiras up to Cars en Coffee at The Motor Enclave in Tampa as can be seen in Shmee's video from yesterday of the event, can be seen from ca. 16:05. There were also another two Emira's behind him during his outro from 34:00 possibly also Naples with a similar...

    Race to the first i4

The journalist who had the I4 back in November has now reviewed the car https://www.motoringresearch.com/car-review/lotus/emira/lotus-emira-i4-review/ Overall summary was that he preferred the I4 to the V6 he had tested previously but would still go for a GTS due to the naturally aspirated flat...

New I4 review out: https://www.motoringresearch.com/car-review/lotus/emira/lotus-emira-i4-review/ Car landed with the journalist at the end of November (link), in summary he preferred it to the V6 but would still go with a Cayman GTS (he has the NA flat 6 trumping the turbo 4pot)

Lotus Emira I4 and Poor Communication from Lotus

UK/EU I4s have been delayed, with delivery now "by summer". Reasoning given was a mixture of type approval and supply issues. They have a preprepared statement for customers and say all customers affected have been contacted, I wasn't originally but emailed them and got a call from them after...

NA Market Ordered: Sport or Touring suspension

The Sport with Goodyear combo was on the car in the following evo review. In essence the review says at the limit on track the car with that combo feels less tied down than at other times but that it was less of an issue on the road. https://www.evo.co.uk/lotus/emira

    GT4 Emira for 2024 BGT & EGT

I've been able to find the team's website, says a 2 car entry for the European GT4 series. Will be interesting to see how the Emira does, especially after how it did in Macau last year. https://mahikiracing.com/mahiki-racing/

Share your information about Emira i4 delivery

There are some of us with UK I4 orders who have a VIN on My Lotus but Lotus won't give any explanation as to what that means. Now, yes you'd expect a VIN to mean a manufactured car but supposedly UK I4s haven't entered production yet.... It could be that a VIN was assigned to an order prior to...

    Race to the first i4

As you're in the US you won't have access to your order details in My Lotus as your interface with Lotus is via the Lotus dealer. Here in the UK orders are placed directly with Lotus with My Lotus being the online interface for that process.

    Any word on ADAS???

ACC is the main part of ADAS I'd be interested in, but can also see the benefit of blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. There are definitely some parts of it that are too much on the nannying side, but they're coming by legislation whether we like it or not, and there will be a...

    Any word on ADAS???

I think this is possibly the first report of any of the ADAS functionalities being present on an I4. It'd be of interest to know if any of the other parts of the ADAS suite are on the car such as auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, road sign recognition, lane keep assist, rear...
