I’d rather sign the contract today and pay the few months of repayments and not have the car until it’s made in July, than sign 5 years at 10%!?! I guess we take a punt and do it over 2-3 years and hope for a better deal when it comes.

Realistically, if you want one, you are already waiting for your build slot, and all the delays put you in the mindset of "I have already waited 2 years, what's 4 more months". Pair that with the cost of living in the UK and the financial cost of getting the car, they are not going to shift...

You should be able to log into: https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/my-lotus and then confirm specs etc. But if they still have not been given type approval, you wont be picking it up, as they legally cannot sell it to you. No one seems to know when this approval will happen, might be worth asking...

How strange. Have you done the login to the new portal etc? Any paperwork signed? Do they still need to confirm this UK Type approval?

Did you get a price-protected version of the price hike email? Also, have you signed any paperwork yet?

Yeah I think base people need to prepare themselves. It’s going to sting. If I had a base order I would cancel it until I get some hard numbers and delivery dates. Could be waiting yet another year and pay even more than we are estimating today! Then finance costs on top could be another 1-2%...

I left out a few things, but you need most of it imo. How are they selling a sports car with no track mode?!? There will be nothing worse than spending all that money, sitting in the car with loads of blank button covers, missing menu items, missing style and missing car modes!

So, I said this around the price hike announcement, and I'm sure it's correct, and perhaps your situation confirms this... I was told by customer service that all the Autos are expected to be started June for delivery in July. Give or take. Now, the UK Auto has not been signed off by regs...

I don’t think they have had enough cancellations for them to think the price is too high. And as other cars are expensive, I see no real incentive for them to drop the price. Not like they are struggling to get orders for this car
