    Lotus Driving Experience Cancelled

That’s a shame. Sorry to hear.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

I heard that the phone’s dial doesn’t make it to 7 (K RPM). It’s fine up to about half past 6.

    Possible further delays

I would say it’s quite significant. A friend in my car group got a call the other day from dealer saying he has moved up to a FE delivery in January if he so chooses. He was a mid-September deposit and apparently enough people dropped out that his spot was moved up. I am a late September deposit...

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

I honestly wished Lotus had used BMW’s inline 6 engine like Toyota has in their Supra Z4. Not sure if it would fit a rear engine design but that is a good engine.

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

By the time of delivery this car will have 4,800 RPM redline; 5,000 RPM in sport and track modes.

Notice how both McLaren and Lotus are British brands and reviews aren’t stellar? Sensing a theme here. lol

Wow. So looks like 20-25K pounds more so about $30-40K USD more?

TopGear opinion piece about the Emira steering wheel

Boy I feel like some of us are so in love with the Emira that they perhaps can’t see things objectively. Top Gear and others have an opinion on various things, and that’s fine. We all like different things and as reviewers, they were sharing their thoughts. Personally, I found the steering wheel...

    Lotus Emira Key?

My my. What big key you have (for a small car)!

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

I chuckle when folks say not to compare things. I mean, competition is good for consumers and without comparison, how do we advance competitive advantages? Btw, Porsche don’t look old or boring; they have classic designs. It’s kind of like art: you stare at a painting that is hundreds of years...

Now that reviews are out is anyone having 2nd thoughts about Emira ?

When Porsche introduced the Cayenne, it was to keep the company afloat. People were balking at a sports car company making SUVs, but the Cayenne was quite good and it kept them going. Then the Macan came out and it was even better handling. Seems like Lotus is going the same route with the Emira.

Test drives and final stage of buying process for UK July delivery batch

This. I shudder to think how support will be like after purchase: parts, warranty issues, good will fixes after warranty, etc.

Hethel Yellow Lotus Emira Photo Thread

As someone said, you don’t see all the colors at once being outside or inside, so it might not matter as much. However, IMO there are too many colors: yellow, black roof, tan and black interior with red started cover, and whatever your brake caliper color is. Maybe no black pack.

Now that reviews are out is anyone having 2nd thoughts about Emira ?

Despite what Lotus wants us to believe, the Emira is a reworked Evora, no? If so, shouldn’t the cost be way down for things like R&D, parts, etc.? Doesn’t seem that difficult to have a new exterior and interior while keeping the internals all the same (except for maybe a less aggressive spring...

Is it futile to compare the Emira with Porsche 718/Boxter/Caymen

Dealers don’t know when they’ll stop production on the 718. BMW recently announced they will continue making certain models longer than expected (or was it Porsche?) so others might follow. One dealer in SoCal told me they have an allocation for GTS 4.0 in September. GTS isn’t hard to get, GT4...

The Reviews and what they tell us about the car

Test drives and final stage of buying process for UK July delivery batch

In a way, I somewhat do wish Lotus to fail so that maybe they will finally learn and make changes internally. If their goal is to attain new customers, they have not dressed to impress. I’m getting more annoyed by the day. I mean, even former and current Lotus owners are getting frustrated. What...

Is it futile to compare the Emira with Porsche 718/Boxter/Caymen

Huh? Your question makes no sense. Samsung and Apple are the two largest phone makers in the world and you have two choices: Android or iOs. In this case, Lotus is a tiny, tiny maker vs Porsche. If they wanted to be in contention, they should be very focused do well in most, if not all...

Is it futile to compare the Emira with Porsche 718/Boxter/Caymen

Boggles the mind that they had a competitor in mind and came up short. God I wanted to love the Emira and be blown away by it. Was at local Porsche dealer yesterday for service and inquired about a GTS 4.0 or GT4. 12-18 months out with ADM. I know someone that can get me either at MSRP so...

Would love to hear the excuses as to why they did this from those that keep on defending Lotus. Feels like everything they do is just so…wrong…so frustrating.

    Compromises

That’s my point: acceleration does matter and while we’re not asking for 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, it should be inline with comparable cars and not slower than a V6 Camry (based on Carwow’s test which seemed like forever). My Macan S does 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds or less and it weighs over 4,000...

    Compromises

Perhaps everyone has different expectations of what a dream girl is, but for me she’s got to have beauty (not necessarily supermodel looks but attractive to me), brains, and a good personality. What good is a supermodel that is terrible in bed or treats everyone like shit? You’ll get tired of in...

    Compromises

I’ll just chime in and say you should definitely test drive the car and make a decision then. Also, anyone who says 0-60 time is irrelevant is kidding themselves. A Camry V6 whose engine is in the Emira does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds. For a “performance” car that costs $100k+ USD, shouldn’t we expect...

    Emotional vs Capability/Ability

To be fair, Lotus has said a lot of things that have been shown otherwise. So I am very much interested in seeing comparisons between Emira vs previous Lotus cars.

Is it futile to compare the Emira with Porsche 718/Boxter/Caymen

They should have copied Coca-Cola and went with “Drive Happiness” as slogan.

Is it futile to compare the Emira with Porsche 718/Boxter/Caymen

The last few posts reminded me of something I thought of in the shower yesterday and subsequently forgot to mention it here. Does “THE other sports car” mean they are accepting to be number 2 (akin to Avis’s “we try harder” slogan) or are they saying THE other main sports car? If the former...

    Emira Custom Plates

Love it! Curious: if one was to order a plate in advance, what do you do if a car isn’t here for another year? I did that once after being told I don’t have to mate the plates to a car, only to pick it up at DMV and was told it needed to be registered with a car within 30-60 days. I’m also in...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

Right. I didn’t read all the posts but it sounded like a general statement that any mods would void warranty, and that just isn’t true (at least not in the US and I doubt is true in many places).
  36. C

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act requires dealers/manufacturers to prove that your modification actually caused the issue that went wrong and therefore voided your warranty. You don’t lose warranty automatically just because you modified something on your car. So if you modify the suspension...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

This is always a thing for early adopters. Bugs might not been worked out yet. I was actually quite happy to not make the FE boat. It’s always a bit risky for first MY (although my previous first MY M235i was solid). I think base models will have some kinks worked out by then. Following cars...
