This has always been my understanding. Due to emissions requirements Lotus simply built the cars as powerful, loud, and as fast as they could while being able to pass emissions otherwise we would just have the I4.

I used to check in with my dealer every 6 months. Now I am just gonna wait until the first car hits the USA before I ask about a base allocation update.

What do you mean the dealership received no FE allocations? Are you saying they are a Lotus dealership that got no allocations at all for FEs but somehow they will get Base allocations?

My vote is take the C8 if you are looking for value in a weekend car.

It even stems from when we were kids playing with hot wheel cars. You always wanted to be the one to show up with a new hot wheel that no one else had.

That answer surprised me. I figured it would be much shorter than that. I think you should get the Emira if you are keeping it for 8 years. Maybe even consider the I4 Base. Depending on the price, an I4 Base may be the hidden gem in all of this stuff.

I didn't know how to title it. But I read in another post that Lotus refers to this new batch of FEs internally as the FE V6 2.0. But even when I read that I immediately thought I4 too. It should be a different name!
