Is Lotus going to honor its posted prices for base cars?

If it's like the USA, it will depend if your dealer agreed and put it in writing that the spot was for a msrp sale. It appears that MOST in the US did msrp, but there are some that for sure did not.

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

I guess I never saw where they were telling us that the FE was going to be available for all depositors in future years.

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

But it sounds like you are upset the FE is limited, but it was less limited when they upped it to 700 for north america, and with the exception of the statement that everyone that orders one by march will get one, which is technically still true, they never promised that everyone would get one.

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

well that was a book haha... so I got lost in some of that, but you thought there was 500 coming, they raised it to 700 which made your odds better, and because you assumed you were getting an FE but didn't make the cut you are now upset with them? I feel like they've been mostly on point...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

I thought it was just base pricing back then, but I don't remember. I seem to remember fe pricing in sept for uk and later for usa... and remember a whole lot of posts about how crazy expensive it was vs the announced 60k pound base price... I guess I just don't get it really, they will...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

I don't think anyone knew the price or specs of a first edition that actually put a deposit down early enough to get one... and anyone after that was only expecting 500 for north america... so seems like the odds of getting one was fairly clear up front IMO. The base model has been announced...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

yeah, I could be wrong, but I don't believe (most) dealers are bumping people down the list, I think two things are happening: 1. people are dropping out to wait for colors or i4 or found a diff car, which potentially opens a spot within the allocation range, and the dealer is filling that...

Dealer asked for ADM to move up list

adm sucks, but honestly if supply is fixed, the end result would be private individuals with cash flow buying the supply and re-selling in the secondary/used market for immediate profits. at least IMO, end result will be the same. if this dealer is the one i'm thinking, they told me (when I...

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

Yeah, I honestly think that the majority of the "real drivers heel toe" crowd hasn't truly been at the limit into a corner in a car OR think they are fast, but don't give point by's lol. I know there are exceptions, but it still annoys me haha
  13. J

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

I mostly agree, but depends on track and tires a bit. the vette is on ps4s tires I think, the emira on the cup2's on a technical track will be close IMO.

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

It's still kinda pointless though to worry, freak out or get upset. Those things don't fix anything, nothing changes, cars won't come faster. I would bet that money is held by the dealers, not Lotus.

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

I don't value the skill. rev match or autoblip takes a risk out of track days for me. heel toe adds nothing for me but something to worry about upsetting the car.

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

the articles I looked at all describe the adas stuff as options, not standard equip, and since the FE is only options they chose, technically it's still true: https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a36903486/2022-lotus-emira-revealed/

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

Yeah, it seemed "odd" to say the least when there was talk of the FE being unlimited in numbers, what is currently being shared seems far more logical even though it sucks for anyone that really wanted an FE. I have a feeling that Lotus stated something like anyone that orders by march of '22...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

Thanks Tony! as a follow up, have you been told what to expect for 2023 allocations and when the order window will open/start for those base models?

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

I think eagle7's post earlier nailed it, they aren't tied directly to prior sales, and the smaller dealers may get more than expected while the larger ones are surprised with less maybe. Seems to be supported with the numbers reported so far, but I'm mostly guessing...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

yeah, i'm confused by a lot of the contradictory info. I think @TomE said even someone that were to put a deposit down by march of '22 would be able to get a FE car, and I think in that same post (from memory) said that would result in a mid '23 delivery date, so seems like the latest anyone...

    The 13 Emira Colors

agreed. the tech has come a long way and it's honestly amazing what it can do. I'd never rely on it, but it's definitely nice to have.

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

for what it's worth, 99% sure this is the car that toured the US too, it's got the weird knob/button in the cupholder area too. either way, a fob isn't going to change my mine :) edit: it's in japan I think, so correlates with where that car is supposed to be from what I understand.

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

that'd be better, but that photo i posted is alledgedly from a video of someone unlocking the emira on tour in china. I don't have a link to the vid though, so just going by what another user here posted

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

agreed. I'm not very picky about things, but I want it to not feel like i'm carrying another phone in my pocket or something like that haha. I've gotten spoiled with not needing real keys on most of my day to day stuff, so having less/smaller things to carry has been nice.

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

I prefer much smaller fobs than that though unless that person's hand is tiny!

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

seems like a very minor issue IMO. As long as I don't have to put a physical key into the door to get in I'm happy haha
  32. J

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

In the 3 cars I have that does this, it won't unlock till i touch the handle, i was just making a guess that the pivoting flush handle may be the issue. I have no clue though!
  33. J

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

I am guessing it has fob lock/unlock at a minimum since it needs a fob for the start function. I could be wrong but my assumption was that the keyless entry comment was about sensing your hand on the handle and sensing the fob in your pocket like a lot of modern cars have, but the handle on...

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

Unless you are cancelling your order, you are inherently making all the excuses they need to succeed. It's only a true shortfall if you opt not to buy, otherwise it's just a compromise on getting a car you truly want. Plenty of other options if you aren't happy enough with the process to buy...
