    The inevitable faster Emira

I’d be willing to bet there will be an upgraded V6, even if it’s a limited production “final edition”. Expect a corresponding huge price tag, but if it’s truly limited that will be the one to have down the track.

    Wheel Hanger Alignment Tool

I’d be amazed if StickyRX didn’t deliver to Canada. I had them fix all the sticky bits on my old 355 and they were more than happy to ship to Australia.

    The inevitable faster Emira

I can’t see a hotter version having 475hp. Much more likely around the 440hp mark with some modest weight shedding of around 30kg and a few cosmetic bits added. And a significant price increase…

    Lotus announces 2024 delivery numbers

Frankly I think Lotus are a victim of the dopey lefty “all electric” bollocks. They put all their eggs in that basket because that was the zeitgeist at the time, but now all that is changing and they may get caught with their pants down. The good news is I think they are waking up and may in...

The state of new cars, a non Emira rant!

No lane departure crap in the Aussie manual V6s either. I actually think Lotus have the balance pretty well spot on in terms of driver aids. There aren’t any that I need to turn off every time I get in the car (unlike every other car I own). In fact what would make the Emira perfect in my view...

    Emira i4 with 509hp/633Nm

Yes V6 manual with the well documented cold start issues. Frankly it’s hard to believe Lotus haven’t solved them yet. WTF are they actually doing there?

    Emira i4 with 509hp/633Nm

I’m no mechanic but is it possible defective injectors could be responsible for the cold start problem so many of us have?

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

No. M2 is as ugly as a hat full of arseholes. And I’m a serial BMW lover. Next.

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

As I said before, the gearchange is the problem. You only have to look at the table posted in another thread to see that the difference between PDK and manual on otherwise pretty much the same car is 0.5 seconds. So in order to get into the 2s with the manual Emira you’d need to have a car...

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

Agreed. Even with 700hp the V6 Emira would not be sub 3. The issue is the manual gear-change. That alone adds half a second to any 0-60 time. If the V6 had a decent DCT it would almost certainly do sub 4 out of the box, and perhaps with some weight loss and modest power increase maybe down...

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

I agree with you 100% and when my car is out of warranty will almost certainly do most of what you have done and propose to do. However, that said, a factory special lightweight / more powerful version is always going to be worth more than a modified standard car. Not to mention a much...

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

I think so (as you’d expect with a 30 year old design vs a new one). I tracked the 355 several times which was great fun and the handling was good even by current standards. The limitations were the brakes on the road version which I had (the Challenge has the same brakes as the F40 and are...

If you sold your EMIRA what’s next?

I sold one of those almost exactly like that to buy the Emira. Had it for 11 years. Brilliant car, and if you buy a good one all the internet rubbish you hear about maintenance is total BS. The sound is to die for - proper old school F1 - but it’s the only thing that is better than the Emira...

Komo-Tec power phase released for V6 Emira

I was going to say there is no way on earth a Cayman is doing 0-60 in 3.3 (would be lucky to do 4.3) but you guys beat me to it!

    Lumbar supports not working?

I’ve noticed the same thing. I can inflate or deflate the lumbar support, but I can’t make it go up or down so it’s in the position where I actually want it. Do we think this is a fault (ie. it should be able to go up and down) or it designed this way (I’m which case what’s the point of the...

    Reliability for long road trip?

We are currently 2000km in to what will be a 4000km round trip over two weeks. Car has been perfect. Not a single thing has gone wrong and it’s been a blast. My advice to anyone re a long trip is to just do it.

What did you do to your Emira today?

Bags packed ready for the start of our re 3000km road trip over the next two weeks. Leaving Adelaide tomorrow morning for Melbourne (Geelong) to catch the ferry to Tasmania where some of the best roads and scenery in Australia await. Will be a great test of the car. Genuinely surprised at how...

    JUBU Group Buy 15% discount

Is this pricing / discount only for US customers, or will the same price apply to anyone with just different postage applied?

    JUBU Group Buy 15% discount

Does that mean it’s now genuine plug and play? I’m keen on the 440 upgrade but not until there’s no issues with the install.

What did you do to your Emira today?

There is a YouTube video which was posted a few months ago where they tested the Emira along with several other cars, and if memory serves me correctly they got 4.1 for the 0-60mph, so it’s certainly possible. Curious about what you’ve said re JUBU tuning the performance to track mode. Does...

    Thoughts on purchase?

So it’s got 400 miles on it. Still in the run in period. How many people have they let thrash it around on a test drive? Even, apparently when someone else has agreed to buy it. I wouldn’t go anywhere near it at any price.
  25. Steve24

    Thoughts on purchase?

Maybe the guy they “sold” it to was pissed off that they were still letting other people test drive his car! I certainly would be.

    New Emira SE announced

It would be a lot closer if they both had the DCT transmission. As much as I love the manual, I do think it's a shame the V6 isn't offered with a DCT as well. THAT, in my view, would have been the one to have.

    Bag World Bespoke bags

Received my order a week or so ago but finally got to open up the box and have a good look tonight. Couldn’t be happier. The quality is first rate and they really are worth every cent. Can’t wait to use them on our upcoming trip to Tassie in November.

    Emira Criticisms vs. My Experience

Rubbish. There are always some issues with new cars (458 fire, anyone? 991 engine failures?). I always laugh when non owners threaten to cancel their order based on some internet rubbish. Go on. Cancel. Your loss.

    Cold start stalling

Excellent update above, thanks. In another update which helps only to further confuse the issue, since I read in another thread about waiting for the picture of the Emira to disappear from the main screen before trying to start, every start has been fine! This is after I have consistently been...

Exhaust upgrade on v6? You need to know this (real life experience and Lotus dealership input)

I think you’re barking up the wrong tree here. It was a totally legitimate question which still hasn’t been answered. Now it sounds like you’re talking about an automatic transmission. I’m just as confused as the other guy, and I’m pretty sure I’m not a total idiot.

    📓 Journals Adding Lightness

I tend to agree with the above. It’s a tough one. I’m coming from a VERY loud car which I loved the sound of, but I actually think the standard Emira box sounds pretty good as is. The only reason I’m considering doing anything with the exhaust etc is weight saving (and perhaps some power gain )...

I like them too. Remind me of Ferrari F430 wheels, which were one of their best designs.

    Cold start stalling

Let’s cut to the chase here. It can’t be a fuel issue. It’s a Lotus issue. I’ve run my car almost entirely on the best fuel available here in Oz. The same fuel millions of others, including tens of thousands of other high end sports car users use every day. The same fuel I ran my old Ferrari...

    Cold start stalling

Glad to hear that. One thing I forgot to mention is that you should have the door shut when pressing and holding the start button for 10 seconds. Apparently Lotus are working on a proper solution but it is taking the usual ridiculous amount of time.
  38. Steve24

Do people really dislike the covered start button?

Really? I know a lot of guys with a lot of cars and I’ve never heard that before. At least not seriously. Sure, for a laugh we called our crappy old Range Rover “Betsy Lou”, but that was nothing to do with auto erotica (which I think you’ll find is a term that has nothing to do with cars)...
