Now that we have taken a powertrain out and reinstalled it, we still don't know how those inserts get done in under 4hrs. I would love to hear from those of you who have done it.
Agreed.
Many old timers and enthusiasts like to propagate the myth that Lotus must remain in Hethel as it is their spiritual HQ. It has been decades since Chapman passed and a series of English managers that were groomed internally have failed at resurrecting the Brand. Heck, Colin ran the...
We have a slot with Nitron next week to develop the kit for the i4 Turbo Emira.
We are also getting our Ride & Handling Engineer, Dave T., to help us develop the settings/springs rates/valving.
Dave has worked us for years on Lotus, Ariel and Drakan suspension development. You read about...
I see that it relocates the 3pt belt. I'm not a fan of that requirement.
You do have good access to the shelf. Ours will not have any bars intruding so we offer even more.
Your lower bars look like they require cutting into the rear trim.
Titanium is very cool.
Guys, I have been attending/sponsoring LOG for over 20yrs. They are really worth the trip. The crowd are true enthusiasts and you will not be disappointed. No poseurs - just true car folk. Great people and fun activities. Here's a pic from last years event in Austin at COTA...can ya spot...
We are hosting a technical discussion with our local Upholsterer. Come learn how car interiors are upfitted or restored. We'll serve pizza/soda afterwards.
We will also have this crashed Emira in the shop that you can ogle. I imagine many of you have not seen this deep into the inner...
We've installed the latest proto in the car and dialed in the primary anti-rotation mechanism. The secondary mechanism adjusts easily so that is good to go. We need to add some gussets to the bar ends.
We've built in adjustability so install will be much easier. We know how this can be a...
We've pulled the powertrain out of an Emira and don't see how it is possible to install mount inserts within the 2-4hrs people are suggesting. I would love to learn how this gets done when the engine is in a car - as the mounts are deep and nearly impossible to access.
Rear subframe is on....powertrain will be back in this week.
The rear engine mount came out easily - no damage or distortion to the hardware. This was a relief and further proof that the damage to the car was constrained to the back and did not translate through the powertrain. 🧐
We...
It can be intimidating for some but these cars are simpler than you may realize. It looks complex but is rather simple when compared to many other modern cars. The modularity of the car makes repairs like this plausible - that rear subframe helps in this regards. Unlike a unibody car, these...
It seems the Emira does not achieve enough camber. I've heard from a couple of folks that want more.
How much camber are you all looking to get? We are working with Nitron to measure and create/tune adjustable dampers for the Turbo Emiras so will also work with them to discuss optimal...
I forgot to mention that we achieve full seat travel as well - for you tall folks You can see the position of the bar over my shoulder - it lines up nicely with the seat opening.
Our second QUADloc harnessbar prototype has been fitted. We confirmed the ease of install and full seat travel. Plus more...
I had a crazy cool brainstorm last week in Japan that will make one of the anti-rotation mechanisms even more effective. We fit this latest version this week and...
Fair enough but you'll remember your gear positions soon enough - even Reverse. Another bonus is that the smooth knob does not collect dirt in the shift pattern.
Yes, they are really amazing - and smooth! We will be hosting the H2R2 event again next Spring. If you are in the area, come join us!
Here are few cars from a previous event....
Another one of our products that make a nice enhancement is the Bollock. This heavier gear knob helps improve the shift action of the Emira. Yes, it is subtle, but if you prize feel, this is one solution that delivers.

Yes, it's tough delivering products that are in line with the Emira. But since we will be including a helmholz chamber in our muffler, plus the bypass valve, I think we can deliver both a quiet system that can be aggressive.
Thanks, we need to list the weight in kg as well.
The OEM design is a novel construction that delivers some of the benefits of 2-piece, like weight, with the cost savings of a 1-piece. Ultimately, cross-drilled rotors are not great on track as they crack, but Lotus marketing must feel...
Thanks for the input.
We have not yet created the system nor have suggested ours will be freakishly quiet - that was a client with a 4C. Ours will sound aggressive and NOT drone. I can't stand drone and will work hard to make sure we don't introduce that. The Emira is not an Elise and most...
Loss of luggage room was an issue with this Evora bar though most solutions that came afterwards were not too much better...I am excited about the Emira solution as it takes none of the shelf space yet maintains anti-rotation.
We received our initial batch of black hatted 2-piece rotors on Friday. Feel free to order: HERE
Gold/Silver are here now. They are as beautiful as expected and lightweight.
We are planning to create mufflers for the i4 Emira that will make it sound more exciting without introducing drone.
We created an excellent muffler for the Alfa 4C that also has a Turbo 4. This quote came from a Auto Exec:
Our solution(s) will be produced here in CA. Our sonicFURY...
Yes, we learned about anti-rotation back in 2005 on the Elise. Our first bar lacked it and Joe Marko, Schroth USA, pointed out the potential problem. We immediately redesigned the bar and created the 4tress Harness Bar - see below. Those additional brackets kept the main bar from rotating...
Anti-rotation has been engineered in. We actually have two redundant mechanisms that will prevent rotation. You just can't see it in this picture. We should have a 'final' design into the car next week.
The secondary anti-rotation idea is fairly novel - I don't believe it has ever been...
We took delivery of a car that was hit in the rear and then pushed into the car in front. The major damage is in the rear. We are Blogging about it: HERE
I'll post it below:
Emira Collision: Part 1
The Lotus Emira has been in the US for just over a year now. A crashed car has made it's...
Yes, as this third cat is post the O2 sensors. Technically you are messing with the emissions equipment which is not legal. I would be surprised if any inspection includes taking the rear of the car apart to inspect.
FYI, these third cats are installed to add longevity to the emissions...
