Mount them on the bonnet, install a 2” lift kit, bolt on some black fender flares, swap out the tires for what you see on most SUV’s, and voila, you have a great alternative to a Sterrato at 1/3rd the price!
The purple undertone in Atlantis is actually what attracted me to it. Not near as purple as the Technoviolet M3 I used to have, but paired with Tan reminds me of the Interlagos Blue over Cinnamon I passed on over Silver/Black and later wished I stuck with.
Echo that. The western state I live in has what I think is a disproportionate percentage of SUV’s and trucks, a good portion of which are of the massive variety with lift kits and oversized rims and tires that extend beyond the fenders (and seem to be what I’d term more of a lifestyle choice or...
I wish I could remember the thread I saw that in - it was way cool and I’m a bit self interested because I think my spec may be a tad unusual and I was keen to know how many others there are with precisely matching options. I’ve tried searching with what I think could be key words but no cigar...
Thanks - my dealer seems to be unaware. On a somewhat related note, I recall seeing on this forum a short time ago someone posting a photo of a document from lotus for their particular car quantifying on an item by item basis how many other Emiras had each of the same items that were specced on...
Hi Kit Kat - just posted on another thread regarding low dust pad options. I see GRP is now offering Rotora (California company I believe), with their H2’s apparently comparable to the Reds but presumably a bit easier to install. Do you have any intel on Rotora vs. EBC? And Racing Brake has...
It looks like 2 low dust alternatives to EBC Reds are here or on the immediate horizon: just saw GRP has newly listed Rotora H2’s, and Racing Brake is all over the forum now taking orders for theirs. Does anyone know much about Rotora vs. the Reds? I understand the Reds are a tight install on...
I have a submission i. d. from early March but no update other than “locked” since then, with production of the FE v6 manuals supposedly completed. Stopped by my dealer this morning to try and get any update beyond that and saw 2 of these parked out front. So if you’re tired of waiting and want...
Found this a bit interesting. Non-extended blackpack but with black film applied to the roof rails and carbon fiber film to the roof panel (with mirror caps remaining body color). The carbon film has surprising depth and dimension - zoom in on the 2nd pic - had to look super close to find out...
Something I’d sure appreciate your feedback on: some describe the stock brakes as “grabby”, and you’ve described the reds as being similar in performance as stock, so does that mean you think they have a similar degree of “grabbiness”? (I know that’s kinda nuanced)
I fall a bit more into the worn out camp but after reading dust-related posts and seeing pics of the copious amounts spewed - especially as it shows on silver wheels - made the choice easy.
Great. Do you still think removing the reservoir cap and using a thick screwdriver will accomplish a successful “barely fit” per your earlier post, or no? (This is directed to KitKat)
Epilogue: based on your and others’ feedback on this thread, and having the chance to do a live side by side comparison today, I’ve decided to go a similar route - tint the door glass to achieve some blending, but not as dark as the triangles. Nice to have a little time to get some details...
This is the Lambo I mentioned in my earlier reply to your post. Went out and took these pics for you yesterday, thought you might enjoy. It’s an ‘87 (not ‘88 as mentioned). One owner, 6k miles.
The thread’s been a blast to watch, pics have made it more so. It’s all led to more time on google than I thought it might, some broadened horizons, newfound appreciation.
Wow re the Dino. Coincidentally, this afternoon I saw a 1988 red over white Countach, with wing, at my local Lotus dealer’s showroom (through the window). Guess it’s just a bit over 68k if you’re interested.
