    Emira Front?

Altough one thing you won't get in a cayman that would also be part of the mid-engine experience is seeing the engine through the backglass. That I'm very excited about the Emira

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

I think they would have had a much bigger impact if quality wasn't good than if they don't pump out enough units of great quality... That is a very good point

    Lotus Emira vs Porsche 718

I have to admit getting in and out of an exige is an experience, but it's part of THE experience and contributes to the sens of occasion, I think.

    Emira body panels

I was hesitant between black and silver. I don't like black wheels with machined faces. I have black wheels on my GT4 and with agressive brake pads they always look dirty, but they complement the car well I think... Still got a few more weeks to decide

How many of you plan on tracking your Emira's??

USE IN A COMPETITIVE MANNER, INCLUDING TIMED LAPS OR RUNS, WILL INVALIDATE THE NEW VEHICLE WARRANTY. Lotus models are designed as road going sports cars. It is recognised that owners may wish to use their cars occasionally on closed circuits or private test track in order to experience the...

    Canadian Allocations

I mostly don't agree with all the frustration that is being thrown on this forum since allocations were announced. but I 100% agree with that post. Some dealers had a questionable approach in the past few months and that I consider deplorable. Lotus has not been 100% perfect, but I can...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

Most of us mentioned the fact that a Lotus is not common and is more exclusive than many other brands as an advantage over competition. Well exclusivity also come with a price, units are not produced in big quantity (that's the principal right). So everybody loves exclusivity, but nobody wants...

    Lotus Emira vs Porsche 718

not sure it's gonna sound like that though. Keep in mind this is a showcar and is not restricted by the same laws as your road car.

    Lotus Emira vs Porsche 718

I own the first gen GT4 (981) since 3 years, been doing 8-10 track days every year since then. It's fun on track even though it has a few shortcomings. On the street, I find it kinda boring once you tasted what that car can deliver on a race track... I think the Emira as a street car and the...

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

I got me deposit down on the GR corolla since last August. Would most likely be the daily driver next winter if it's unveiled by then!

How many of you plan on tracking your Emira's??

Will track it just to see what she's got but the GT4 will be the dedicated track car
  22. P

Fortunately it looks like the Emira gearing is substantially shorter than the gearing in the Porsche GT3 and GT4.

great on track when you are constantly in that higher RPM range, but on the street (here in canada anyway), kinda hard to enjoy safely.

Any chance Lotus having auto rev match on the manual Emira?

that's it. And when you are dealing with a 100k car during track days, you are glad you can take that risk away. I 100% agree with you on that point.

Fortunately it looks like the Emira gearing is substantially shorter than the gearing in the Porsche GT3 and GT4.

one thing to consider as well, the V6 only revs to 7000rpm. In a GT4 it's 8000rpm and 9000rpm in a GT3. The gearing is not shorter, you only have to shift earlier :p But, one thing, the supercherged engine provides much more usable power. I own a GT4 and you constantly feel like you need to...

What happens if I move provinces before delivery of my car?

2 options. Either the dealer will only charge the federal tax to you and you'll pay the provincial tax whereever you plate it. OR the dealer will charge both taxes from te province where you buy and you'll have to fill forms and submit to the provincial gouvernment where you live so they can...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

I totally get that. My comment might had came out wrong. What I really meant is "get a corolla, it's cheap to run and does not depreciate that much, so you'll be able to wait for your Emira and not be stressed out" I actually bought a 2007 toyota matrix since work from home has now become the...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

go buy a corolla instead. What is absurd is buying a car on a waiting list on the promise of getting it a year later and making plans accordingly. Especially in the current context where every constructor has delays in their deliveries, even them giants of this world, let alone a small...

U.S. Update: Allocation & Order Date

End of july was late to the game at most dealers I think. I know my local dealer had 40 deposits within a week of the announcement of the Emira. That dealer only gets 20 V6 FE allocations, so I imagin it's the same all around north america

Toyota 2GR-FE engine vs. BMW B58 (Supra) engine

any heavy track car will have very very high running costs. But some still perform quite well none the less if you can keeo them running. On my GT4 a set of Cup2 will last 10 track days and 8000km of street driving, not sure you can say the same on an M3. At 2000 canadian dollars a set or 4...

Speculation: FE I4 will have 400HP and 480NM?

that's not true. Mk7.5 Golf R was 310hp in europe, 288hp in North America. GR Yaris is 257hp in some market, 268hp in others... just 2 exemples that comes to mind. It's very common to have the same model having different output depending on a lot of different factors.

Toyota 2GR-FE engine vs. BMW B58 (Supra) engine

sounds like the newer ones are better as occasionnal track cars, suspension and brakes seem to work quite well. The seats are also much better, especially with the carbon bucket seats. Bigger wheels and better tires, good brake fluid and performance brake pads and you are good to go.

Toyota 2GR-FE engine vs. BMW B58 (Supra) engine

I had a S65 in a 2013 M3 ZCP, the engine really feels like it's derived from motorsport, sound was awsome aswell. Too bad everything else about the car was super touring (brakes, suspension, seats, tires, etc) haha. Only kept that car one year, did not work on the track and would require massive...
