    TheSmokingTire Emira Review

I've never driven a Lotus...ever. But I've seen the Evora reviews and know Lotus' reputation as a driver's car, so I'm thrilled about that as well!

    TheSmokingTire Emira Review

Well, I kinda took the reason for that "chill" attitude being that they thought the car was essentially an Evora with a better interior and exterior. Not really ground breaking, but a huge step forward in design and moderninity.

    TheSmokingTire Emira Review

Huh...I'm kind of surprised reading some of these comments on Smoking Tire's review. I felt it was a very encouraging review. They loved the Evora and said the car drove like an Evora with a much better interior and less niggles (throttle blip for instance). Overall I felt they both really liked...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

It's not...I agree. But then there's weirdos like me who love a wide range of vehicles and and not really brand loyal so if it's just a fun weekend car, I may be comparing an apple to a goat! 🤣🤣🤣

Emira Issues - from final production cars

I always love it when these posts happen. Is this really a fair comparison? Here's a data point for you. I've had 2 911's. Never had one issue. I guess that means 2-2=0? Of course all manufacturers have issues with their cars. It's the percentages and the repetition we need to look at. So how...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

I honestly have a hard time believing this. I would bet money the majority of owners have had at least one problem or two. They may not be serious, but just some minor things. ALL new cars have issues. That's why many avoid the first year or two so things can get sorted out. But where I am...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

Here's what I'm wondering....I've heard mentioned a few times here by various forum members that it just appears these Emira's are having more issues than reality because people use the forum to complain about them. It would be interesting to know what percentage of all delivered Emira's are...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

Clean paint can look deceivingly good, especially on camera. It takes certain angles to see the swirls, sanding marks and holograms, etc on new paint because the clear coat hasn't been degraded by oxidation. It is glossy which can mask the issues. I literally parked next to an older goldish...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

Hey Eagle! Preaching to the choir here, but all good info. 😊 I do my own detailing and literally have a "DO NOT WASH" hang tag for the rear view mirror just in case I ever need to go to the dealer (which is an absolute rarity!). The hang tag is great because even if you tell them not to...

I'd rather they not touch it. That's where the majority of problems come from.

Emira Issues - from final production cars

That's great! I'll drive mine AND keep it looking better than 99% of cars on the road. I enjoy driving them and detailing them. I live in the same world as everyone else. Just what I like to do.

Emira Issues - from final production cars

I've seen many detailing videos of new Porsche's, Ferrari's, Rolls, Bentley's with horrendous paint! Holograms, sanding marks, hidden damage behind factory ppf, clear coat issues, dust nibs, swirl marks, etc. This happens on all new cars. A new car is NEVER perfect. But, I've also heard so many...

    PPF/ Paint Adhesion

I'm torn. The OCD me says to wrap the entire car. The more practical side says just to wrap the sensitive areas (especially that area behind the rear tires and front bumper/Hood).

    PPF/ Paint Adhesion

This is very true, but usually not a problem with a good factory paint job. Resprays tend to be more problematic. Definitely a bummer to see happen 🙁

Um..it seems they expected every dealer to at least change the subject line. Maybe make it more personal? Really?

Now $105k in the USA. I’m not seeing the value

I'm not sure you saw the "copy and pasta" email to multiple people on here from Lotus sent by dealers. The subject line literally said something like "copy and paste this email...blah blah blah" and the dealers left it in the subject line.

Well it probably is easier for you to get in and out at 6'2". At my height, I have to scooch the seat up all the way just to get the clutch pushed in. Then getting out is a bit awkward cause the steering wheel is right there, so seat needs to be scooched back a bit. Then getting short legs up...

    Baggy seat base

At 5'2" I can't even imagine having to get in and out of Porsche buckets all the time. C I considered a GT4 with buckets and between the sliding the manual seat forward and back and the high bolsters, it was super awkward. There's a reason people buy bolster protectors.

Hey I'm on your side....even if I'm not one of your "Emira bros." I think the Z06 is flipping amazing and I'd be in line for one too. If I had $200k to spend or wanted to wait 5 years. Things are changing so fast in the auto industry...who knows what 3 years from now will look like..sad times.

And you'll never get that back, whereas the GT4 will hold its value.
