    Harry’s Garage 31st October

I know he said he plans to use it but Harry does have a rather nice selection of interesting and daily cars to choose from, perhaps that made his final decision just a little easier (if ours harder!) I bet I'm not the only one who noticed the omission of steering wheel choice, he's going to want...

    Harry’s Garage 31st October

I noticed Harry said this towards the end of the passenger laps, ""Doesn't feel nearly as stiff as I'd assumed." Then when he gets out of the car, "I can't get over the ride." Then it's the first thing he mentions to Russell. Frankly it might have changed my mind AGAIN as I'd finally decided...

    What colour have you ordered?

I'm currently down for all yellow, all silver, yellow stitch black alcantara (and trying not to stress about missing stitch on steering wheel!) Sensible side of me periodically changes it to green but then I look at this again. The new Hethel models do make the red look good though.

Mandatory Speed Limiter on the Emira?

Thanks, I'd not looked at Lynk before. Interesting business model. Start/stop button is rather familiar, along with clocks, vents, stalks and steering wheel buttons.

Mandatory Speed Limiter on the Emira?

Perhaps coincidence but could just be coming with a Volvo carryover. If you watch Succession there's a brief shot of the XC40 dash in one of the 'Sponsored by...' idents. Whenever I see it I am reminded of the Emira dash (no bad thing!)

    Touring vs Sport suspension

I’d be interested if anyone can compare GR Yaris to Evora (of any kind). I find the Yaris brilliant on B roads, it has Pilot Sport 4s, rolls a bit but the damping is spot on. I guess this says I should get Touring but I always order the most hardcore version of things, so currently have Sports...

The other thing with alcantara is deciding which way you want the stripes to go! This is a peak inside my Yaris, first time I've had alcantara seats and I'm a fan.

Leather = slippery when driving 'enthusiastically' and/or on track. That's the major difference I would say. Alcantara is also much warmer in winter if such things are a concern! Some say it can show wear a bit easier than leather but that's really down to usage and how it's looked after.

    The great black roof dilemma...

I made a specific point of asking him this question at the B&C night (it had been vexing me since watching the Carfection interview!) I took what he said to mean they were not initially thinking black roof, having done it on previous cars but when they tried it it looked great, so thought to...

    Sorry can’t continue purchase

Just a personal perspective and totally get how the OP feels, I think the people who will stay the course through deposits and the highs (it looks stunning!) and the lows (no stitch on manual steering wheel!) over the next 6-12 months are likely a bit like me. I’ve always wanted a Lotus but I...

    Steering Wheel Options £400

    Interesting.. what were the reasons?

    Steering Wheel Options £400

If you change your transmission option to auto then swap back to interior, the full eight steering wheel options appear. Manual deposit holders are only allowed two choices. Which is utterly ridiculous IMO.

I had my call yesterday. Happy! Playing with the configurator last night I noticed the lack of yellow stitch on the wheel (hadn't seen the above comments). Unhappy! Phoned Customer Care this morning and nearly fell off my chair when he confirmed it's not available on the manual. It honestly took...

When I saw it my immediate visual reaction for the nimbus was ‘well that’s just silver’. Just my opinion.

    Launch Edition colour samples

They have spent millions on factory and new modern paint shop and can’t paint metallic yellow? They managed it on the Evija and on prior cars. They should sort this out, if for nothing else it’s a classic Lotus colour (and the one I wanted to order!)

    Phone call from lotus

From what I understood at the event last night the date of deposit payment relates to build slot priority not the order of calls being made. They have 4 of 5 people doing calls in alphabetical order (not 100% on this but think it’s what I heard). There are a little over 2000 calls to be made..

If you were at Goodwood (and sat in the car) the only new things at the event are the colour and material swatches. The photos on here are a good representation for those. You are right that going won’t tell you anything new, though it is a chance to ask questions. It’s not really worth a...

By mentioning ‘there is no need to panic buy’ a politician haphazardly triggered a small section of the UK population into increasing demand by 500% almost overnight. It was mentioned because a couple of petrol stations had run out of fuel due to lorry drivers being thin on the ground, caused by...

Forgot to add earlier. Demo cars are due early April, first customer cars end of April. I took demo to mean press not customers. I don’t believe there was one there but wouldn’t it have been nice if they had given one to all the people who have put 2k down. Would have cost them almost nothing...

They have a satin finish on the diamond cut faces, so they are less ‘bright’ than a lot of diamond cut wheels / what some may expect.. That’s if the wheels on the blue car are final production quality.

I was told a black with a gold flip is one of the colours available post first edition.. Real shame the launch colours are all a bit uninspiring. The Exige FE in the showroom was in a gorgeous Evija like gold yellow. The Emira yellow is plain in comparison (I took the swatch over to it to...

Base and First Edition specs and configuration options coming through...

Well said that man. Can’t be easy for a maker of essentially low volume specialist cars to try and be a grown up global business, even with the investment. I quite like what they appear to be doing with making sure the customers of the first car get relevant info and some personal attention...

Dealer update - viewing and prices

Me also. Can’t believe they’re asking for an emergency contact. Health and Safety for canapés. Be interesting to see how corporate this whole thing is. Lotus is indeed changing.
