Another trip around the buoy that is Lotus customer service...

Just catching up on here, and, wow, didn't expect to read this. @TomE, that is rather scandalous if Lotus are deliberately stonewalling you, which I certainly hope isn't the case - it would be an own goal if it is! :censored:

What did you do with your car today?

Cannot dispute that... There are a couple or so already in the US, albeit as show cars. The Renaultsport Clio V6 will not eligible for import until 2025 for the Phase 1 (the 2 silver cars seen on the right) and 2028 for the Phase 2. The Phase 2 is favoured by most.

Funny that, we did the same, albeit on the Friday (26th) - waiting to get on track: Now winding down after a fantastic weekend at the Silverstone Classic.

Koeni unveils the 1385HP CC850 WITH a manual transmission!

I was really fascinated and curious, so had to dig a bit deeper into the technology behind this gearbox, and managed to locate the patent filed by Koenigsegg (published on 28th April 2022). The excerpts below are a few of paragraphs from that patent application. Paragraphs 0002, 0005 and 0014...

Koeni unveils the 1385HP CC850 WITH a manual transmission!

Amazing - that is absolutely nuts! (y) Wonder how many patents were filed during the design of that transmission, a world's first. Innovation at its best. Hats off to the team at Koenigsegg who worked on this car.

    FIRST LOOK: New Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) - 518bhp, £195k and DRS! | Top Gear

What I meant here was specific to Porsche GT (RS), not the Grand Tourer concept from perhaps other manufacturers, and that observation was as a previous owner of their Rennsport (RS) and Clubsport (CS) variants, which were created as track versions by Porsche's motorsport division. Both RS'...

    FIRST LOOK: New Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) - 518bhp, £195k and DRS! | Top Gear

Now that certainly is a beast of a GT car! Completely over the top, but my goodness what presence...well done Porsche. (y) Been a while since a sense of nostalgia crept in after parting with one of their previous motorsport creations I owned, and that was over 7 years ago.

    8/15 Factory Tour

The roof duct will work for me, any day. It works very well on the Exige S2, both functionally and how it looks, and I do think it will look good on the Emira too.

How many is Lotus planning to produce?

Interesting statistics but personally I prefer Lotus take their time and ensures each Emira that rolls off the production line is 'perfect' and is subject to the necessary QA procedures to ensure best possible fit and finish, both mechanically and cosmetically. From what Lotus have been saying...

UK dealer demo cars - specifications

Excellent, looking forward to seeing what B&C will end up getting. When I communicated with Jamie last the spec for their V6 manual was Hethel Yellow + Black Pack, Alcantara interior with Yellow stitching, Sports suspension with Goodyears, and Black wheels. That was way back in January...

    Goodyear or Michelin durability ???

Opted for the Touring setup (so Goodyears), but having had most of Michelin's creations (Pilot Sport 3, Pilot Super Sport, Pilot Sport 4 and Pilot Sport 4S), on cars that drive very differently to each other, the 4S has been the standout tyre so far. As such, I will be interested to see how the...

Welcome our new Emira Forum Moderator - TomE 🛠️

Well done Tom. (y) Your contribution and the insights you bring to the table are invaluable. Didn't know that your delivery has been pushed back until November. :( Does that mean you are not in the first batch, or just unlucky to miss the cut-off date? Look forward to meeting you at a...

    Henry Catchpole - Carfection review

Perfect. I think you have articulated what I meant far better than I did. From what I have seen, read and heard so far, the Touring suspension/set up will suit my needs best, so that is what I have gone for. However, a test drive will be the final decider, which I have to weigh up against...

    Henry Catchpole - Carfection review

Couldn't agree more. (y) For me, its gearshift aside, the Exige S RGB offers the raw experience that I missed after parting with my old 964RS. I don't need more power for road driving. The perfect recipe includes agile chassis, good/quick steering, good damping, good brakes, and less weight...

    Anyone got any project cars?

Nice! I feel that, in Spain, German cars are not as loved as Italian or French ones, especially if they have a rally pedigree. I bought a Renault 5 Maxi/Tour de Corse replica project from a Spanish collector, and he wouldn't touch german cars, only Italian and French (he has an amazing...

    Anyone got any project cars?

Must say that is absolutely fabulous - love old-school 911s! (y) What was the donor 911 used for this restomod or retro project? The work appears to have been done to a very high standard; very SInger-esque, with attention to detail in the right areas as opposed to what Singer do and focus on...

Understood, thanks. Indeed, I set one up on both Exiges.com and SELOC, which is why I got a bit excited on seeing a carbon gray RGB (1 or 9 in the UK, and not in the register): RGB Register - Exiges.com SELOC RGB Register If you do know of any owners of RGB's please pass on the above links.

Super, thanks for confirming. Great to hear that those two Exige S2 specials were in attendance. I haven't seen a Carbon Gray RGB up close, but good to see that it, and the Scura were parked up together. (y) Do you happen to know the RGB's number by any chance?

    Let's clarify the term "GT4"

Are these rules similar to those adopted during the single-make (or one-make) race series' that were the norm in the 70's, 80's, 90's and early 2000's? Porsche were, and are, at the thick end of such a series with the Carrera Cup and IROC, which is what I remember from my days that I was into...

The product that has been recommended to me is STEK Dynoflex. I have had plenty of chipped and pitted windscreens that I am glad that there now is a product to help reduce such issues. Lovely, thanks for that. (y) That Scura (#6 of 35) was up for sale recently, so wonder whether it was the new owner who brought it along. I fact, I wonder whether the Exige S2 parked up next to the Scura is an RGB in Carbon Gray...it certainly has the forged wheels.
