One of the dealers I spoke with spelled it out, 8 months from order placement to customer delivery for this first wave. He’s hoping that drops once production ramps up and they get past the FE’s but he’s sticking with the 8 month delivery time.

That’s because your head unit has a 5Ghz WiFi chip that’s bonded to the Android Auto or CarPlay app in its OS that you can’t control. All the chip does is support these connections, not provide higher order WiFi to the consumer. Turn WiFi off on your phone and see how well it works.

I’m probably selling a 718 Spyder to get an Emira, unless I can sort out a way to have both. I’m lucky to have a wife that understands and supports this. They both are an end of an era.
