Yes I watched the Carfection video. Reminded me of visiting Jim Clark's grave and the Jim Clark museum. Yes, it would be ideal to test Sport/Cup2's then Touring/F1's back to back. But that is not going to happen. I do think that all of "Us Lot" deposit holders have specced our cars in the hope...
From what I understand from a colleague who tried to get a Cayman GT4RS, they are as difficult to get. Local Porsche dealer gets 3 or 4 a year, and has more than 40 on the waiting list.
I had 2 Caterhams for 8 years and an Elise S2 for 8 years, all as run as a daily. Cant see a problem with Cup 2's on an Emira personally. Would be a luxury for me given my track record.🤣👍🤞
Yes, they told me on Wednesday demo cars would be delivered last week in October. So it does seem they are not singing from the same hymn sheet when it comes to giving out information.
Yes i to find it difficult to believe what they tell me. It was just this time they said it would definitely start production as it was scheduled on Thursday.
Thank you Tom. Just thinking, if my car was starting production on Thursday, and i was told that on Wednesday, and they didnt know about possible delays till Friday, do you think my car has actually started being produced?
I have to say Tom, i am somewhat confused. On Wednesday i called LCS to ask how my order was progressing. I was told by the nice lady it would be introduced to the Chapman Production Centre on Thursday for its 12 hour circuit of said facility. Then when my car reaches the end of the line and...
Yes, I have received this aswell.
Same here Leonard. When I do eventually drive my Emira home, it will be going straight into the garage for a few months hibernation till the weather gets warmer and dryer.
Yes, three years on the 5th October. No, not optimistic, well after everything we have collectedly been through. What with delays and broken promises on delivery dates, i still will not believe it untill i am driving my Emira away from the dealer.
I think Tom said production takes 12 hours. Then they are take straight to Upper Heyford as there is no room to store cars at Hethel. I am sure Tom also said in reality delivery should be 2 weeks after they come off the line. In my case, being produced next week, I should get it at the end of...
Just had a chat with Lotus Customer Services, apparently, my car is definitely being built next week and I can expect an email next week. Delivery is expected to be mid November.🤞
Agreed, I have had 2 Caterhams and an S2 Elise. Not once when driving them did I think I wish they had this that and the other. I personally was to much in the zone of the driving experience to think about those things.
Using that theory, my dealer is Lotus Silverstone, i must be slightly ahead of you. So that will be December 2024 then for delivery, or in Lotus speak, SOON.
I know the feeling. I have been told by 2 Porsche dealers that there is a 12 month wait on Boxsters and Caymans. The way the constant delays are going, if I ordered a Porsche tomorrow, it would probably be delivered before the Emira.
I think, over the many months of waiting for our cars, we probably agree that "soon" has no meaningful timeframe. They seem to use it instead of being honest about what is going on. Surely most of us would feel perhaps slightly better about these delays if we were told exactly what was really...
Congratulations on getting a GT4. I visited 2 Porsche dealers, couldn't have been more helpful, offering test drives and a proper sit down discussion to ensure the car would be right for my needs. Feeling more and more this is the road to go down. Especially with how Lotus are.
I no what you mean. My deposit was October 19. My original build/delivery was February/March. Even being a Lotus enthusiast for many years, I am getting fed up with this and I have been looking at some options. Many dealers for other products have bent over backwards to get me into one of there...
Well that is a precise date you have been quoted. Is that in the first batch for America? Us Lot in UK are just given a month, then the one after that, then the one after that..........
I will not be using my Emira in the winter months. I have a run around for the more mundane duties. The Emira, when Lotus finally deside it is my turn to take delivery, will only be used for trackdays, car club days and out for some driving fun days.
