Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

So did your Evora arrive at the prescribed time?

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

Oh yes, I get that all the time. Sometimes I say ring Lotus to find out. Good luck with that one. I wish I had never told anyone I was having a new car. No one believes I am, it has been so long waiting.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

I wonder if, when it eventually is time to pay for my Emira, I say to Lotus, I will pay you soon, and then pay in 3 years. That should work, as when I paid my first deposit 3 years ago, I was told I would get my car soon. So in this instance soon translates to 3 years.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

I have banned my family, friends and colleagues from using 'very soon' and 'soon' in my presence.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

Why dont they just say x weeks, x months, or in our case, x years.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

Same here, I am 2019 deposit and told October build November delivery. The use by Lotus of the word soon is warring a bit thin with me. I to call CS about it.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

I was hoping before I retire would be nice. They have got to deliver them before 2030, as they can't sell petrol cars after that. So time is running out.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

If I have not got my car in 2 months, I will cancel and order a car that I can own and drive.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

I have just spoken to CS, i have asked them to pass on the message to the powers that be in Lotus, to stop using 'soon' and 'very soon', as it is getting very annoying as it does not refer to any time frame. As an example, when my Emira was not delivered in March, as first advised, i was then...

Can i ask the spec of your car. It is just that my car seems to be delayed for missing parts and your car is nearly ready for delivery.

    Orders to date?

I thought Matt Windle said in an interview that they could build 4800 per year.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

You are not kidding Tom about earlier deposits placed. Definitely no pattern to delivery sequence. I have not heard a thing, and my deposit was 5th October 2019. Beginning to think they have forgotten about my order.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

Your story is similar to mine. My Emira is manual show car spec less black pack. Hopefully not too long now.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

Sorry to burst your bubble, but when Lotus uses the word soon it has no timeframe at all.

I think in Lotus speak, it means something completely different.

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

So does this mean they are waiting on one supplier for these hoses? This makes no sence. Surely there are more than one supplier Lotus could contact for hoses. If I am right, the original plan was to start production in February, given my Emira was due to be delivered in March. So that mean 7...

Dealer Demo cars in Europe and UK

I know what you mean. I have said this before, but when Lotus say soon or very soon there doesn't seem to be any kind of time scale for this. To us deposit holders it means nothing. I wish they would say 1,2,4,6 weeks or 1,2,3 months, then we would know where we are. As a long time Lotus...

Just an additional thought, on the S2 Exige, yes you could remove the hard top and then fit an Elise soft top. I saw a company at a Lotus gathering who did the conversion.

The s1 Exige came about from the Lotus Sport Elise Championship. These cars had a single centrally mounted seat. I was at Brands Hatch on the 9th April 2000 to watch the race and also saw the cover come off what was to become the S1 Exige. These had 2 seats though. It was a great day.

And wasn't Julian Thompson less than pleased when he saw Richard Hill's somewhat modified/ possible solution to the rear end lift problem.

Well at the moment I would be happy with the last few years production figures of 1600 per year to start with. So lets not get ahead of ourselves just yet thinking about Matt Windle's projected figures of 4800 per year for Emira.

Surely the basic running gear of an Emira is similar to an Evora 400. I dont remember any problems getting parts for that car when in production.

This I came across on the Lotus Cars twitter page.

Yes, i take on board what you are saying. My point is, dont tell me, a number of times, something is going to happen and then it doesn't. ie, in November i was told definitely delivery in June. This was after definitely March, then April/May, then May/June. All i am saying is be straight with...

And to think, in interviews, Russell Carr made the mesh a big thing, so to have it covered makes no sense. What, Lotus over promising and under delivering. Surely not. Like telling me 2 years ago I would get my Emira in March. Now we are in September and still no car. Told October now but not...

    World's first Emira customer delivery?

Yes, the Emira road show was taken to different parts of the world at different dates. But the launch on the 6th July 2021 from Hethel was live streamed for the whole world to see at the same time. I can only imagine that for Lotus, every market there cars are sold in are important, as it is a...

    World's first Emira customer delivery?

In hindsight, perhaps I should have gone to Goodwood 2021 to place my deposit, rather than October 2019. I had thought, and backed up by Lotus, I was the first deposit holder, and therefore was getting the first Emira. Now, it seems, i will be lucky to be in the back end of the first batch. I...

Just had the call from Lotus - They're coming

Oh no, not the word "soon" again. When used in Lotus speak, it used with not the proper meaning and with no time frame at all. I estimate it could mean anything from 3 months to 10 years.
  38. Scruff111S

Just had the call from Lotus - They're coming

That is probably the time, realistically speaking, we will be getting our cars.
  39. Scruff111S

    World's first Emira customer delivery?

So in reality, a very early deposit means nothing. So clearly it is not a first come first served system. As i have said before, it now seems to be a names out of the hat system. In that sense, someone could order today and get it first week in October. Yet some early/ pre launch depositors...
