    200 Miles Per Tank?

This is my favorite - at the gas station right after a track session before driving home. I'm averaging < 4mpg at the track. This is a V6 6MT.

How good will the Emira's gain in value be?

It's not going to be the last. The global delusion about the future of motoring seems to be ebbing.

How good will the Emira's gain in value be?

Look at all the Lotus cars from the last few decades. If you go back to the 60's, starting with the Elan, there aren't any regular production Lotus cars that have become valuable. They depreciate for a while then seem to hit a price plateau and stay there. I imagine the Emira is going to be the...

    Insurance

Interesting. I'm going to have to yell at Farmer's or switch (I have 2 homeowner policies and 5 cars with them). No accidents, no tickets, the 5 cars together cost $12k/year and the Emira is half of that. Other than my Elise (which has liability only), the others aren't fancy cars.

Based on what you guys are seeing in terms of pricing, I am getting fleeced. I added the Emira as a 5th car to my Farmer's policy, and it's $6k/year.

Is Emira track capable straight from the factory?

The 600LT I considered had 30k miles on it, and a bunch of track miles. The interior Alcantara doesn't hold up well, it's nasty when it's got years of dried sweat in it, particularly the steering wheel. It needed new radiators due to rock chips, and had a few other minor issues. Basically, I'd...

Is Emira track capable straight from the factory?

When I was test driving cars this past summer, I drove a lot of nice ones, and I came to the same conclusion as your test drivers; my two final cars between which I was deciding were the McLaren 600LT and Emira. Both of them have a similar handling feel. The McLaren is obviously faster given...

    FYI brake pad replacement…….

Did you perchance find a graceful way to deal with the pins on the rear brakes? I also put in some track pads right around 1,000 miles and went to the track, and getting the rear pins seated was the most annoying part. All my punches are too long to be able to move a small hammer on the inside...

Is anyone running 19" track wheels?

I checked that size; very few tires are available, it's pointless, and wide tires have downsides too. Spacers put more stress on wheel bearings, which you don't want.

Is Emira track capable straight from the factory?

I tracked mine at Laguna Seca once breakin was done, and I overheated the brake fluid quite significantly, got mushy-pedal and had to pump it to brake. This was with 2-day old OEM fluid. So, "it depends" :)

The DWS 06+ and PS AS4 and some Falken all seasons are all also available in the 20" OEM sizes.

Is anyone running 19" track wheels?

So, now is the time to decide on the wheel size and tires, since I need to figure out what to buy from @GRP . I'd like to keep the front/rear diameter ratio as close of a match as possible so that ESC is happy. Stock, the rear tires are 0.7% taller than the fronts, so basically the same. OEM...

Stock Lotus Emira is soft on track but still impressive

It's nice to hear someone else's feedback from the track. I ran mine on the F1 SuperSport (touring tire). Does your car have the touring or sport suspension?

Is anyone running 19" track wheels?

You can disable the automatic parking brake in the car settings, I already have. You don't need to remove the parking brake :)

Is anyone running 19" track wheels?

The Emira GT4 I checked out at the dealer had 18" wheels and no parking brake at all.

Is anyone running 19" track wheels?

It would work, and it'd probably throw a code or something, however, it's already enough of a pain to swap wheels for track days, I can't even imagine removing the parking brake each time. I have my limits. I love my Emira, it has two things which annoy me; the seats and the electric parking brake.

Is anyone running 19" track wheels?

What "needs" to be done is that the actuator motor needs to be moved to fit an 18" wheel. Doing so simply and reliably is the hard part. The motor drives a gearbox which in turn compresses the caliper. Since none of us amateurs or small companies have the resources to develop a new actuator...

Is anyone running 19" track wheels?

Yeah, I've contacted GRP a few weeks ago. As soon as they tell me that the wheels fit, I'm buying a set from them. I also suspect it might be possible to reconfigure the rear parking brake gearbox and turn the motor inwards, towards the center of the wheel. If I can find some time, I'll see if I...

Is anyone running 19" track wheels?

Does anyone know whether 19" wheels fit on the car? I did some rough measuring, and I know an 18" wheel won't fit in the rear, but it looks like a 19" might. An 18" wheel should fit in the front. The 20 inch wheels on the car really limit tire choice, and I destroyed my set of OEM Goodyear F1...

New owner in Bay Area, CA. Picked up an Emira to complement my Elise

Hi All, I've had an Elise since 2008 and I got the itch for a new car, and after test driving a bunch of really cool cars, I decided to go with another Lotus. I figure with each being broken half the time, between the two of them, I'll have one car. This is my 6MT yellow Emira, next to its...
