    Gearbox oil cooler

In the Evora 400 series, Lotus included the fitting of an oil cooler system, based upon Toyota standard parts. Do we know if a gearbox oil cooler system is fitted to the Emira.

Komotec working on first upgrades for Emira

I had an Evora S1 from 2013 to 2017 that had a 7000 normal range but in sport it went to 7200rpm. From 2017 to 2021 had an Evora400 that had a 7000 in sport which was disappointing as I missed that extra 200 rpm rush in gears. So reducing to 6800 is not positive, I think this engine can take...

Let’s hope so on your experience. As I say “dodgy” doesn’t help. But it was lumber support that was missing?

Harry's Garage videos - visit to Hethel and Matt Windle interview, Emira collection and drive

I am going to see how his back is after his trip. I am of about the same age with a dodgy back (bulging discs) and on my test drive commented that my back ached which was unusual after my Evora400 seats, which I had no problems with. We will see, I do hope they are adjustable and we will find out.

The off topic Porsche discussion thread

I have had that experience at Local Porsche dealership. However, I was having my Lotus serviced - so decided to pop around the corner to the local Ferrari to have a mooch. Guy came up to me and offered coffee and biscuits, turned out he was the dealer principal. We started talking cars - next...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

I agree totally with this analysis and have posted previously on this subject. I too don’t agree with offering these two options, it’s confused most people and is still questionable. McLaren offer adaptive damping on their range, but also offer a softer version of their sport series 570GT for...

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

I am delighted to read all these reports of impending check outs and deliveries. After such a wait it is reassuring to see some forum members getting their cars before Christmas or year end. After last weeks posts of some members receiving emails delaying their orders by nearly a year, from Q2...

What an excellent analysis and I can see that coming from the alpine it gives a good yardstick for your thoughts. I think you have also come to the same conclusion as many have that the car is good but slightly uninspiring when coming from another Lotus like the Evora. It is definitely a...

    New Shmee Emira video

I didn’t see that piece as too busy watching football. 😀 Can you imagine the chaos that would create, I think Sweden went through that years ago and to give them credit, managed it without too many issues. Don’t have any issues with left hand drive as spent years overseas and mainland Europe...

    New Shmee Emira video

I quite like his style and he a car guy. But did you see the amount of left hand cars going through the factory. Not sure when this was filmed but, I don’t see how UK market is being serviced. It was the same when Harry visit as well. Maybe the same time. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well just watched Scmeee video of his car being just about ready. Don’t know when visit was undertaken. But there seems to be an awful lot of left hand cars being built.

Insurance cover for UK test drives for drivers over 70 years old

Interesting I had my test drive on 10/11/2022 five days after my 70 birthday on 5/11/2022. I passed over my licence, they photocopied but no mention of issues.

    Customer services

when I had my Aston Vantage in 2008, The service manager would pick the car up from my house and deliver it back after service. It was exceptional service here in the North East of England.

    Customer services

This really worries me if we have to go through CS for warranty or indeed servicing requests and booking. It’s been a farcical from day one with online purchase, let alone test drive and now to here that they (CS) could be involved with booking your local agent for anything. I have this with...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

I remember when the Evora was rolled out in 2009, went to the dealer to look at the car and the passenger door handle came off in my hand. I walked away from Lotus until 2013 until build quality teething issues were sorted out. I guess we are seeing these issues now because of QC. It’s a...

What a great tirade for a Sunday morning, excellent and totally agree. That is interesting, as it mirrored my call with Scott. All I can think of is that they are intransigent in respect to pre-reveal, and are going off their online list. This is exactly the same as the online booking system for test drives. No reason or logic was applied. Do invite i4 customers...

I cannot wait for mid 2023. I have already missed out this year track days and tours with friends. I did not get an alternative car for this year due to multiple broken promises on delivery. Here we sit with another promise of April. So unfortunately another plan is in place and it doesn’t...

Yes I have contacted Scott for an explanation. But, I think his hands are tied by corporate procedures and hierarchy. I think there are others (maybe a management issue higher up) that has been put in place by whoever, that doesn’t give a stuff. I think this is really going to catch them out...

Has there been any leak regarding the Emira V6 lap time round Hethel

There are two routes at Anglesey the short circuit and the longer extra loop. Be careful, which circuit Evo used, I guess it’s the short circuit. The other times could have been longer circuit with extra loop? Hence difference in times, by so much.

After all your anticipations throughout this journey I think you are reflecting my feelings on this saga. The test drive is an anticlimax at JCT600. Their location isn’t ideal after having moved recently from Rawden near Guisely that had better access to a test route to the moors and dales...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

The problem I found was the JCT600 route was truly awful. There was only roughly 1 mile...

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

Unfortunately I have been locked in since last year on Sports suspension. I was a pre-reveal customer with my dealer. So early delivery was on offer. Suspension: Touring and Sports options

Why I wanted to test the sports suspension is that there are certain roads in the North of England - particularly our poorly looked after “B” roads across the dales and North Yorkshire Moors that a stiffly suspended car doesn’t cope to well with. Similarly, bad urban roads on our towns are...
