If you don't mind ADM there will almost certainly be cars up for sale as soon as FE1.0 holders take delivery. A lot can happen in 3 years and I'm sure some folks just want their money back at this point but are locked in until the keys are handed over.
I drive a Mexican-built Audi and am quite happy with it. It's a legit question, and I suspect it'll apply to Lotus sooner rather than later, so good luck policing that conversation going forward. It already applies to the Eletre.
My comment was pretty specific about whether an Emira produced in China would still be accepted by the market as a Lotus. I wasn't making any blanket comparisons. I disagree with its censure.
I'm _really_ curious how the Eletre is tracking with initial sales predictions. If the IPO paperwork was to be believed, Lotus was planning on moving an average of 50k/yr of those once up to full production speed. Literally an order of magnitude more important than Emira when guaging the...
My theory is that Lotus will not deliver a single US car until all of us - _all_ of us - completely give up hope.
So take one for the team and embrace despair! It’s the only way.
Re: 6-figure EV sportscars, I think there may be a niche there for something sexy with 2 seats. Tesla models X and S are very common in that price range, but the upcoming EV Cayman will be the real competition.
Looks, chassis, steering all came in as promised. That’s delivery, not overdelivery. I meant all the remainjng specs promised at launch:
416hp
available Spring 2022
60k GBP
the best QC ever
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if you haven't already locked in your order with the factory, there's no way you're getting the old price, regardless of vague dealer promises which aren't in a signed contract.
Dog-turd Brown:
Also note: I discovered that if you upload a .png like this, the forum software does an absolutely horrible color conversion during processing. I'll have to convert locally to .jpg in the future before uploading.
Honestly the car’s shape is fantastic, you could paint it dog-turd brown and it’d still look good. But I think 3 blues plus shadow grey is way overkill on the cool end of the spectrum. Shadow grey should get swapped out for orange in the lineup.
Just hover over the username and hit "Ignore". Works great. Eventually trolls get bored and wander off if they don't get the attention they're craving.
Actually that makes me wonder if there’s any pattern to the cars with ESC/limp mode issues being stored outside vs inside? Maybe there’s a general issue with water intrusion into the engine electronics?
Honestly one of the big attractions of the Emira to me has always been the reliability of the Toyota powerplant, especially given Lotus's decade of experience with it. It's more than a little disheartening to hear about all the problems with limp mode / O2 sensors / throttle valve issues.
