I think you guys are reading it wrong, he's saying his last official update was from fall 2022. He's not saying he got a new one which has further pushed things back.

Lotus has yet to keep a promise on dates. If there was any chance of US cars arriving "Fall 2023" the first ones would already have been spotted rolling down the production line. Add a minimum of 2 months from production date to delivery, probably more if you're on the west coast.

Do you have a picture of whatever electrical plug you disconnected from the stock seats? My thinking is the answer might be to get the mating plug for it and connect a few pins with jumpers, but I may be oversimplifying. Edit: ideally a photo with a ruler held behind the plug for size reference.

@Steve Tillett did I understand correctly that you might be able to do the center stripe in different leather colors to match the rest of the interior?

It’s a homebrew Emira configurator I wrote in UE5 for Windows, back before there were any photos of the actual colors. Lets you play with stripe designs and ride height as well.

I've never understood why anyone would pay $1200 extra for Lotus to paint the roof black when you could just cover it with black PPF and have the option to change your mind later.

If you have a FE 1.0 you must have fully spec'ed the car and ordered it over a year ago. How would you get your money back at this point?

Experiment: put down a deposit for an Emira R, and a deposit for a C9. See which one arrives first.

I never thought of the Emira as a large car but the Esprit looks absolutely tiny next to it. How did they ever pack a V8 into those things?

Especially if Lotus is able to swap wheel colors at the last minute, which wouldn't seem too tricky. But I guess Hanlon's Razor applies.

Thanks for clarifying, it may have changed since I left in 2010. Used to be a 4-year grace period for a new car and then biannual smog checks.

Washington also requires California-spec emissions at time of delivery. But unlike California, we don't have to take the car in for inspection every 2 years thereafter, so it's fairly common for some emissions equipment to fall off of sportscars over time.

I still think you're incorrectly conflating "country of origin" with "political" but appreciate the response. Ultimately the market reaction to Eletre will answer my question definitively.
