Well keep in mind we US buyers are a little frosty because while Lotus has been holding our money for 2 years now, we're left holding our ***ks while watching cars get delivered all over Europe. Lotus blames this entirely on US govt approval but I remain skeptical that process couldn't have...

Related question though: I don't think Lotus has ever received any funds from US depositors - my impression was that all that cash is still sitting in your dealer's account. (based on the fact that deposit amounts and terms seem to vary widely among US dealers) Anyone know for sure?

Lotus has a 2+ year order backlog and is trying to switch to an entirely EV lineup. I continue to be confused by people’s faith in upcoming S/R variants. What’s the motivation for Lotus? They’re already selling more than they can build.

I don't remember where I heard it, but I had thought the explanation was that Lotus thought that certification from the Evora GT would carry over as the powertrain was identical, and were caught out when EPA demanded a completely new application. Either way this should have been addressed back...

The _only_ potential upside is that by August maybe Lotus has figured out the power steering and wiper issues. But I'm not holding my breath. They have yet to do anything other than disappoint since July 2021.

OCD question: do the Michelins have a directional arrow? Or do they have a “this side out” marking? i.e. is the tread pattern reversed L/R?

My show-stopper for the C8 is the fact that if the engine isn't running, the car is a brick which can't even be rolled out of the way. Just a major design flaw IMO. Imagine overheating or running out of gas while in a busy left turn lane, and having to wait to see which happens first: flatbed...

Yeah I'd take that with a big grain of salt. Until I hear from a factory tour attendee that a whole bunch of LHD cars with amber headlight corners are rolling down the line, I'll assume that we're shunted to the back of the queue behind China.
