    Emira Essex First Edition

Is this is something Galpin have come up with? Ah, yes. It is, I found this on their Instagram: This Galpinized Emira is an homage to the Essex F1 livery, which Lotus featured in the 1980’s. Essex Petroleum became a key sponsor of the Lotus F1 team in 1979 and launched the lineup in 1980...

End of the Emira V6 order is now confirmed to be Feb 2025

No it hasn't. There have been rumours on this forum which get repeated over and over again as if they were fact. When I did an AI search on discontinuing the 2FE engine, it sourced information from this forum! :D Show me one credible source that says Toyota has stopped making the 2FE...

End of the Emira V6 order is now confirmed to be Feb 2025

Sure but that's almost two years from now! In the long run, everything on earth is eventually ending. If i4 demand is weak, and the TYP 135 has been delayed, Lotus will certainly look for ways to extend V6 production for as long as possible.

Auto100 - UK Trader in Sutton in Ashfield

It's a terrible look when Auto100 have 2-3x more Lotus vehicles for sale than any official Lotus dealer in the UK. Talk about trashing your brand.

2024/2025 Emira Factory Order and Delivery Log

Wow. Still longer than a year from deposit to order!

Are the paint issues fixed yet?

True, but this looks totally different. It isn't blistering, it's a large strip of delaminating paint. It looks more like a bad surface prep.

Are the paint issues fixed yet?

This doesn't look like the usual blistering problem. It looks more like a surface preparation issue before painting. I wonder if the car had some paint repair done before delivery . . . it happens much more often than most people realise.

End of the Emira V6 order is now confirmed to be Feb 2025

I think it's a safe bet that either 2025 or 2026 will be the final year of V6 Emira production. Lotus has always said it will eventually be phased out. I'm just questioning this rumour that the last engine shipment from Toyota will be Q2/Q3. Says who exactly?

Source? This rumour keeps being repeated but no one can provide any evidence for it.

    The inevitable faster Emira

Don't agree. That's certainly true for the new EV vehicles, but Emira has far outsold Lotus's wildest dreams when they launched the car. They were blown away by the order book that built in the first 6-12 months, and the factory is still clearing it with i4 deliveries. And that's despite them...

    Latest Emira Production Update

Lotus hasn't announced the end of the V6 Emira. So far, it's all just rumour and speculation. "My dealer says" or "I heard on the factory tour". If there's any genuine 'hard' evidence that Toyota is ending production of the 2GR-FE then Google and Chat GPT can't find it! Toyota are very good...

2025 Lotus Emira Limited Edition V6

Lotus is finally getting smart! If the V6 engine has only a short production life left, they should keep running as many "limited edition" versions as possible to get some badly-needed additional margin in the door.

    Latest Emira Production Update

Bolwell is a tiny car company based in Melbourne, Australia. It was founded by the Bolwell brothers in the 1960s, one of whom briefly worked at the Lotus factory. In 2010, Bolwell put the Toyota 2GR-FE V6 engine in a new model called the Nagari 300, but they had a four-year delay in getting...

    Latest Emira Production Update

All that article (from 2023) says is that Toyota is no longer using the V6 in the Camry. It doesn't say they will no longer produce the 2GR-FE and it doesn't mention stopping in Q3 2025. In fact, it says "It will live on in the . . . Lotus Emira". I'm not giving you a hard time, but I've yet...

That looks good. I'd say the alignment is very similar to Lotus OEM.

Aerie Performance Emira V6 carbon fiber engine surround group buy

Mine isn't great either. The Lotus one isn't perfect, but the Aerie one has a worse alignment. I suspect you don't notice it unless you're looking for it.

End of the Emira V6 order is now confirmed to be Feb 2025

It's a bit selfish, but I'd be thrilled if they stop producing the V6. Lotus probably sold less than 5,000 of them worldwide, so it will be a fairly rare car— one of the better "final generation manual ICE" cars out there.

End of the Emira V6 order is now confirmed to be Feb 2025

The end is probably near for the V6 Emira but, as you noted with your FWIW, this is information from a dealer. If there's one thing we've consistently seen over the past 3 years, it's that information coming from Lotus dealers often turns out to be completely wrong. This forum usually has more...

Poll for Those with Paint Blistering / Bubbling Defect

Ditto. Mine has seen plenty of rain, lots of washes, so far no blisters. I think the most likely explanation is that the defect is in specific batches of panels that weren't correctly manufactured by Teijin. There are 'only' 59 owners in our survey that report blistering. When you consider...

Change to Australian Design Rules (ADR) sees many models cancelled

Agree, but in Europe ADAS is now required on all new cars (not just new models). So I wonder whether that means the Emira V6 can't be sold in Europe any more? UK has not yet signed up to GSR2, the European regulation, so I think they're only requiring ADAS on new models like the i4. Likewise...

Has Lotus added ADAS to any V6 cars yet? I thought it was only in the i4 models.

New colours available in Canada for the 2025 V6, available for a limited time, must be ordered by the end of February.

This is exactly what the Lotus Tech CEO said they'd be doing on the investor earnings call. He said that their profit margin on Emira is not good, so they will be using offerings like limited editions to try and improve it.

Auto100 - UK Trader in Sutton in Ashfield

Well, no disrespect to your source, but on Sept 30th Lotus Technology had US$451M in cash sitting on their balance sheet. So they weren't wholesaling blocks of cars because they were about to run out of money. I suppose it's always possible that head office was putting the squeeze on Hethel...

Auto100 - UK Trader in Sutton in Ashfield

Don't think this is quite right. Lotus has plenty of cash at the moment. The CEO said on their earnings call that they were discounting cars in Q4 in order to clear a backlog of older stock in the UK and so they could come into 2025 with no more discounting. He said this was particularly...

    Lotus announces 2024 delivery numbers

Agree, the interiors are excellent. It's subjective, but I'd say that Eletre looks ok but not great, and Emeya looks pretty awful. Plus, they are too big and too heavy. They are too expensive for the Lotus brand. Even compared to other EVs, they don't come close to achieving their stated...

    Lotus announces 2024 delivery numbers

The bigger problem is that the Eletre and Emeya just aren't desirable vehicles. Even at the pre-tariff price point, they haven't been selling.

Auto100 - UK Trader in Sutton in Ashfield

Don't think it was that Lotus was unwilling to put the cars through their dealers. More that they needed to move a block of cars quickly and were willing to wholesale them to Auto100 at a discount to do this. There were at least two reasons for this: 1. In the earnings call, the Lotus CEO...
