Your first point is incorrect. The Emira does have Hill Assist. However, if you leave the car in gear when you're waiting at the light the Hill Assist times out. If you wait in Neutral and put it in gear when you're ready to move off, you have several seconds of Hill Assist.
Romans have got a bloody talented photographer on staff. Not only have they managed to make VD look sensational (more like BRG) but they actually got the tan leather looking correct, rather than the oranage you see in most photos.
Almost certainly UK only. Lotus is very unlikely to run their wholesale invoices to Europe, Australia, etc through the same numbering system as their retail invoices in the UK.
Spot on. These are RHD cars, so Lotus can't send them to many other markets. Given what has happened to UK interest rates, and the fact that most of these orders were placed two years ago, it's hardly surprising that there are cars available.
Hi Jon, sorry to hear about the paint. Am curious, do you have PPF and if so can you easily spot the bubbling through it?
I rushed off to get PPF on my car, but then it occurred to me that it could conceal this issue "until it's too late".
The lack of DAB or maps in Australia is annoying, especially because they were clearly listed as features of the car— and the cheapest KIA or MG has these as standard these days. I also don't think it's right that new owners only discover this issue when they go to pick up their Emira. I use...
Don't agree with this at all.
1. We have no "reliability data" for the Emira yet. Initial problems (and most are small annoyances) with very early production cars don't mean that reliability will be poor. I remember back in 2014 when Porsche had to replace the engine in every single GT3 . ...
The most recent batch of Emiras delivered to Australia doesn't include a User Manual. The factory says they are no longer providing a paper manual, only an online manual via the Lotus website. Has anyone taken delivery in the UK in the past few days, and is this the same there?
BTW, the car...
Feel for you. Terrible customer service from Lotus, I'm afraid . . . yet again. For all the talk, they still just don't seem to get the level of customer service expected at this price point. They need to seriously lift their game before Electre starts attracting luxury SUV owners to the brand.
Agree, they were hopeless, especially considering that they only had six colours to demo. Meanwhile, other luxury brands are doing things like this . . .
To me, it wouldn't be the right thing to do. I don't think it's "fair and reasonable" to test-drive a manual Emira unless you are proficient at driving stick.
I find that the BMW and Porsche buckets look terrific but are absolutely impractical unless the car is purely a weekend toy or track day car. In a daily or semi-daily they quickly become a nuisance.
Congrats, it looks fantastic. I previously had a 997 GTS too . . . great car but I made the mistake of getting the PDK and found it a bit dull except on remote country roads. I look forward to hearing the sound of knicker elastic snapping.
Unfortunately, no one will be able to accurately answer your questions . . . this just isn't publically available information. However, we do know from an interview with Matt Windle that Lotus has taken over 10,000 deposits for the Emira, and that about one-third of them were in the USA.
I hear you, but this 133 project is being run by Lotus Technology out of Shanghai, the Hethel team (Lotus Cars) doesn't have much involvement at all.
Lotus Cars is focusing on Emira, Evija and the 135.
Yes, our V6 deposits were non-refundable. Lotus previously announced that Australia's FE V6 allocation is fully sold out, so presumably all V6 orders have been "confirmed by the factory" per the email below.
Communication reads:
By now you will no doubt have seen / heard that Lotus released...
But the V6 isn't going up in price for deposit holders in Australia? The local distributor has said they're holding the price on V6 deposits and only passing on 50% of the wholesale increase on i4 deposits.
