The black trim is just black gloss plastic (it’s not painted), you can use a plastic polish to get out any blemishes or scratches. No need to PPF the black plastic in my opinion.

My thoughts is leather for daily. Alcantara if you do lots of race track. Alcantara is more grippy to hold and sportier look and feel. But leather is more luxurious for a classy all leather interior, sort of GT car.

So agreed the software update doesn’t work on the cold start issue. Mine stalls every time on the 1st start when left overnight (especially when parked on an incline) 2nd start no issue.

You need to change your dealer or ring Lotus CS. No steering fluid (probably leaked out) and they’re telling you mid September. An absolute joke.

No warning lights on mine too. Luckily I’ve had no warning lights for a while. 🤞🤞. Only the lumpy start frequently but not every time.

The splutters don’t start from new, it started after a few thousand miles. Mines in for the full works. So will let you guys know next week after the software update. Wipers motors are still on back order. Seat belts to be replaced.

Would you say the affected part is sealed in a box and water tight. Trying to work out if it’s indeed water related. Does seem like it once I’ve jet washed the car. But dealer says the lumpy cold start is software related. Anyway, mines in for a full week for full make over. I will update later.

I think those who are having this issue, me included. I find it happens more often after I’ve washed and jet washed my car. Can anybody relate?

Nick, so far to my knowledge it’s only happened to earlier cars. But Lotus have acknowledged it and will fix it. Waiting for parts and getting the paint is the main issue.

Definitely something else, it sounds metallic. What you’re describing is called the Ackerman effect. I had it on my previous Porsche, which is normal.

Breakdowns, warranty repairs, waiting for parts, software downloads can take upto 8 hours. PDI’s going on new cars as a priority of course. I’ve been waiting for a couple of months for parts to finally arrive. I bet the service centres are not short of any work.

Does fuel level sensor or parking on a gradient have anything to do with how my car starts in the morning. It splutters into life, sometimes stalls. I start it second time, starts straight away with a good thrum. I park in the open on a 10 degree gradient on my driveway. Never happened before...

One other thing which worked for me is sit in your car, ignition on. Toggle the phone tag on the app to off and then back on.

Adjust the sensitivity on the phone app. (slider to the middle). Make sure your Bluetooth is switch on, on your phone. Try again. App is either buggy, too slow to recognise/connect to car or the GPS signal is poor. Mines like this too, gave up and now using the physical tag.

Don’t worry about this one. It will fix it self when the back up battery in the SOS module charges itself up. Need longer drives to charge up the battery.

The KEF hifi in the Emira ain’t too bad. Streaming music via Spotify definitely an improvement. Also, I’ve noticed at a lower volume it’s sounds tinny but when you crank it up half way, the bass kicks in and is more noticeable. It’s if the bass/subwoofer only turns on at higher volume.

Doesn’t make any difference, I would say. I put normal unleaded in and I don’t have any warning lights. But what I do know is the battery drains pretty quickly and sometimes when I start the car it sometimes splutters into life rather than a positive thrum. The battery system is the main culprit.

Sounds like an earlier example where the rear boot was debonded and had to be glued back together because it was leaking.

Is yours an early Emira or have you recently picked it up brand new?

There is a spare connector on both sides just in front of the seats. However, they should be tied up and not left hanging.

Maybe because the revs aren’t high. Higher revs equals supercharger spinning faster. Higher the gear, lower the speed is less revs. If you floor it, then you hear the whining noise rather than the fluttering behind your ears.

The fluttering noise is from the supercharger behind the drivers seat I believe.
