I am still waiting for any contact from Lotus. It was confirmed early August that my car was scheduled to be made this month but now updates. I am early but the earliest afaik anyone out there had a payment request or proposed delivery date set yet for an i4?

Welcome to another Watford man. The A41 is a great fast road I agree and have used it to test most cars. Hope to have my i4 in a few weeks, maybe we will cross paths soon!

Jubu sell a sequential gearbox for the car that can take lots more power. I believe the Aisin gearbox is good for mid 400's but risk reward kicks in much over 435 which is the Jubu starting point and close to the Lotus 430 Evora GT PS, just saw this...

Sadly this is 100-% accurate. They were quoting me £2.2k and I got £620 from Hastings . I am 57 clean licence suburban Herts parked on drive 6k miles. Flux also quoted over £1k for my wife’s M235i and they insured it last year for £250. Something weird going on.

I appreciate your point however to debate further: I can make more money currently keeping £80k in my investments than pretty much any Porsche residuals short of a GT4 RS - which Porsche wouldn't let me buy anyway. I want a toy that makes me smile and car residuals I don't really care about too...

They will just repeat the positive comments and lets not forget, there are plenty of them, it is hardly a shocker of a car.

To be fair Harry mentioned manual shifting was not the best part as well. Oh and I am i4 and still convinced I made the right choice.

I would guess the fan is there to cool when there is no air movement such as in traffic or after a run and you have stopped.

Just watched Harry (Charlie). Great review and I like what I hear in general. Love a turbo car (Saab 99 Turbo was my first) and slightly better handling and daily driver use works for me. Can't wait.

Yup it's like PPF, you make your car look less good to give a better car to the next owner. I heard an example being like dating virgin super model but not sleeping with her to keep her perfect for her the next guy.

I mean they can't spend it as it is not theirs, it is a refundable deposit. It needs to sit in an account fenced off somewhere so why not put it is a true escrow, the management fees would be similar to the accountant fees to manage it within their own systems and you can use it to reassure...

They cannot recognise it as revenue and report it as earnings so it is useless to them as a company. So it might as well be in escrow as that amount of "cash" is tiny anyway. I used to chuckle when folks though it was a money making gambit to take these deposits. It helps them predict demand...

Is yours an i4 or v6? Mine is an i4 and supposed to be built next month as well.

Has anyone managed to ghet a quote for an i4 yet. All I am seeing is the v6. Lowest quote for me is around £650; 6k miles parked on drive herts aged 57 with wife 2nd driver. Hoping the i4 will be a little cheaper
