Is there any insight or inside news on the FE 1.0 cars destined for CARB states? NJ early order here with vin 0473 and wondering how to know if it's stateside yet or still yet to set sail. What is best way to track this? I sure wish Lotus had order trackers like so many other manufacturers...
If this is accurate, then this confirms the value of this forum... if NOT... scammer should die! 🤣 That would've meant a LOT of effort. 🤞🤞🤞 Let's goooo! CARB Day may no longer be exclusive to the Indy 500!
There's an argument for that for sure... but the counter argument is that Emira purposed as analog and immersive for the driver, so those driver asst features available on so many other makes maybe are purposely omitted on a pure analog car with modern amenities in the interior. Insee both...
Imho, if you don't want to do all manual things manually, get the DCT. I wanna do my own blips... 😁 That's my whole purpose for this car. (Still waiting... )
Are we certain these are stainless? If so, why they look so dull? If these can be polished to look like some of the early pre-prod cars, I'd keep mine, but if not, I'll have my car in a month or so as well, and I might be willing to swap!
Everything was supposedly submitted October 27th or 28th thus the Jan 28th "D Day" we were waiting for. The submission was posted a few pages back in the thread. What is more likely is that CARB rejected the submission and corrections need to be made. The tests all showed that Emira passed so...
If your question was serious, CARB is an acronym for the California Air Resources Board certification. Basically California emissions certification which is now become a requirement in many states.
Was given a VIN today... the end is near. Doesn't come up in any search besides Lotus website just yet... so assuming still at Hethel. If anyone comes up with another way to search, please share. Also, do we know if the last 4 is accurate production number? Thanks!!
I fully agree! It doesn't match the emblem chrome, or anything else on the car... it just looks like unfinished metal... I'm just surprised that they were left this way. They really look like an unfinished part.
That does look great... but I still want to wait until I actually take delivery of the car. If group two fills up before then, I understand. I'm in a CARB state and apparently those are still in the UK. Thank you!
Re-upping this thread as the day is (maybe) finally near.
My spec is set to arrive shortly... DV without black pack, as I wanted the painted roof and metallic LOTUS on the back, but really think the matte exhaust tips look "unfinished" to me. They should either be shinier, or maybe black...
I did the factory tour last July... train from Liverpool station to Norwich and a cab ride to Hethel as well; What a great day. Our tour was led by Guy, and we did the Heritage and Factory tour combo. You won't be disappointed... please report back to where in production efficiency the seem to...
This really doesn't make any sense to me. They stopped production of the prior 3 model vehicles 2 years ago as Emira was to replace them, but they're a year and a half behind in production so both the UK and dealerships abroad haven't had a new Lotus product to deliver to consumers for over a...
Very different than the Emira... but very pleasantly surprised... and for what it would have cost you new, to what I was able to grab it for, you made out well too!! Not sure why these are so undervalued currently, but I'll take it!!
Your 4C looks great! I'm a 3 pedal purist, and was skeptical regarding the F Type, but I really am pleasantly surprised so far. I love the rarity of the manual and it sounds fantastic. It also turns heads and there are lots of toys and luxury inside considering it's a 2016. For what they sell...
I couldn't hold out any longer... nearing 2 years and another 6 months at least, and another summer gone... so I figured I'd treat myself to an intro to British motoring... 😁 (was fortunate enough to find a similar spec to my Emira too...) What's everyone else got??
...and any of the new dealer points that have opened in the last 2 years with Emira "coming" have had no product to sell for a long time now. Talk about frustration...
Do we not think it is just a matter of a tune that will give this engine the higher redline and 430 HP? Does anyone know any mechanical differences of the Evora GT430 engine to what they're putting in the Emira?
Does anyone know if this is available in the US? First wave vehicles should be going into production within the next three months or so, this would be great to keep us at bay...
They can build more cars with the same build process currently ramped up at the factory before changing things around, now that they have a steady supply line and have gotten into a groove... they also get to make a bit more money per car for the 2.0 batch before having to re-tool / revise the...
To me, it seems this is simply a logistical decision... they don't have to make landmark changes in the factory to build another 600 V6 FEs. THEN they re-tool for I4 and a la carte builds for base model.
I just don't understand why they'd publish "Emira FE available quarter 3" in the North American configurator with their price increase, while they already KNOW quarter 4 is the soonest they'll be here. It is so frustrating... people have made arrangements in their finances and lives based on...
I love what they build and why, but how they've gone about this whole thing is madness. A little honesty and straightforwardness would have gone a long way. They've a small boutique brand for purists working their way into a big market, and they have a big hit on their hands... honor the...
So this means the July estimate that was just released is now November? Are you and I both working with Ray at North Jersey Lotus? This is getting obsurd.
The manual is one of the main things that makes this car truly unique... an analog sportscar with direct control, but proper, modern amenities inside for daily use. If you're not looking for that experience, I struggle to find the allure of the Emira over so many of the other choices in the...
Has there been any word or update on first wave North America deliveries? Unofficial word has been another 12 week delay from January production, so first wave builds are now likely late April-May which as we know will EASILY spill into June... are they going to pass this price increase on to...
